I will be in Los Angeles next month and want to stay in a luxurious and charming hotel where I can feel pampered. Which hotels do you recommend?

I'd go for Four Seasons at Beverly Hills. Great suites with views, library, pool, dining areas, spa, fitness room, etc. www.fourseasons.com/losangeles

I would add the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills. (peninsula.com/beverly_hills/... If you want something by the beach try Shutters.

I love, love, love Shutters in Santa Monica. It's in a great location and within walking distance of a lot of great restaurants, shops, pier, beach, etc. Their service is amazing, and their spa is EXCELLENT. They have a very nice pool area as well, but it can get crowded on the week-ends.

I too like the Beverly Hills Hotel but would also mention the Luxe Hotel on Rodeo Drive. It is much smaller but a very charming boutique hotel. luxehotels.com/hotels/RodeoD...

The newest hotel in the LA area is the W in Hollywood. I wouldn't say charming but it's probably quite glamorous. I wouldn't mind checking it out myself. It's supposed to have some great clubs where celebrities may be hanging out. The Pantages Theatre is accross the street. A pretty good restaurant called Hollywood and Vine is also across the street. starwoodhotels.com/whotels/p...

The old Bel Age Hotel with an excellent location, right off the Sunset Strip, has been renamed, reinvented, remodeled, and has a Gordon Ramsey Restaurant. Sleek and pampered is the way I would say the looks and the feel are at "The London West Hollywood". See their website: http://www.thelondonwesthollywood.com/

Indeed! All good choices in the Hollywood / Beverly Hills area. There are a few others though, - The MONDRIAN for instance. Or the L'ERMITAGE, a really fine hotel. The MARQUIS HOTEL & VILLAS, - or the BILTMORE HOTEL downtown, similar to the St Francis in San Francisco. For luxury boutique hotels, there is the LE PARC in West Hollywood, the LUXE HOTEL on Sunset Blvd., - the MAISON 140, a luxurious B&B in Beverly Hills, and the THOMPSON in Beverly Hills, a New York style hotel. You now have pretty much the ultimate list.......d;o)

The Peninsula is by far the best option. Beverly Hills Hotel is a runner up. Pity The Hotel Bel Air is closed for renovations, or that would be a top notch option If you want boutique, I'm partial to The Chamberlain in West Hollywood. I'd stay away from The W in Hollywood, for now. Starwood has had growing pains and service is not where it should be. GC
