I've been searching for a company that offers tours to all of these places in one go. So far, only www.backpackers.co.uk offers an all-in-one tour. Problem is, I've never heard of them and I can't find any reviews on them on the 'net either. Has anyone booked with them before? Is there another company from London I can take for all 3 areas? It definitely has to be Castle Combe, too, that's the main one.
I hope that you realise that you cannot get up close to Stonehenge...

What is meant by that is you cannot get up to touch the stones,but close enough to see and hear a commentary.

You can get access to the stones themselves, but you have to make a special appointment outside normal opening times: english-heritage.org.uk/days... Castle Combe is the problem, because as far as I can see it's not a place offered in conjunction with a daytour to Stonehenge + Bath (the 'normal' grouping) from London. One option might be to stay in Bath instead and take the tour from there. There are a couple of operators which include Castle Combe, Stonehenge and Lacock...a simply stunning National Trust village (you'll find it on my 'Chippenham page): madmaxtours.co.uk/index.php/... stonehengetours.com/stonehen... This company offers a 2-day guided tour from London which covers the places you mention, and more (Cotswolds, Lacock). Might be worth considering: salisburyguidedtours.com/day... I've heard of backpackers but have no personal experience with them.
