I have a school reunion in London on July 20th. I was thinking of going there on the 19th with two other people, and returning to Ljubljana on the 21st. Does anyone have any suggestions for a cheap triple or double room hotel near Joy King Lau Chinese Restaurant (3 Leicester Street ) - maybe even one with a student discount or something. Would prefer it not to be a big shared dorm, since one of the people I'm travelling with is my 13-year-old sister. Suggestions for some quick sightseeing or shopping places are also welcome :)
hi there piccadilly backpackers, which is just around the corner in piccadilly circus is nice and cheap. its not the best but if you are on a budget it is ok. its right next to leicester street/ square. they have triple rooms along with the normal dorms. hope this helps

It's not near your destination but if you strike out at the more central lodging, I just booked a brand new Ibis budget in Whitechapel for £57 per night (averaged out), they had triple rooms I believe for the same price. It will require a tube or bus ride to Leicester Street of course. You can also try the YHA website, they do have private rooms at some of them yha.org.uk/places-to-stay/lo...

I'd agree with Kristi (dabs) that you should look a little further out. Central London is very expensive for rooms and you can get to your destination quickly and cheaply using public transport. I have already spoken to her about the place she has booked as it is close to where I live and it is literally five minutes walk from Whitechapel Tube station. That would get you to your destination in about 40 minutes or so. If you want to check out travelling times from more outlying places, use this Government transport link. http://www.tfl.gov.uk/ That will give you exact travel times and details between any two points in London. Regarding sightseeing, what sort of things do you want to see? There are so many thigs to see in London you could spend years and not see them all. If you give me a quick idea of your interests, I'll try to make a few suggestions. Hope this assists, fergy.
