Hello all there, I was wondering if there are trustable dive centres on Gili Air? I heard the diving around the Gilis is fantastic and you will see for sure turtles. My friend advised me to dive with Oceans 5 Dive on Gili Air.. Are there other dive shops? Are there price differences between the dive shops? and how much is it to get your PADI? Cheers, vanessa.
If your friend has been recently and was happy with the service and price - go with their advice. Note that there are more dive shop options on Gili Trawangan than on Gili Air. The Padi dive courses come at a fairly standard price - usually aroundUS 350-375 for the open water certificate which includes 4 - 5 dives. Prices can work out cheaper if you have a combined dive & accommodation package. If you are concerned about safety, go with the name brand, in this case PADI, as they are a world brand and can't afford to be shonky. Have a great trip.
