When getting a taxi from Mataram to the harbour, not Bangsal, the one where the private boats go from to the Gilis, is there a ticket office to get a standard priced voucher, or do you just have to bargain? Thanks.
You should try bargaining but first find out the going rate between Mataram to Bangsal before doing so from your hotel or someone you trust. If you don't wish to bargain, then you can use the meter which is a fair way to pay but taxi drivers don't like this as the return journey, they may not get passengers.
