Hi, fellow travellers. Me and me wife are going to be in Kuta the day after tommorow, staying for 3 days in total. We were wondering if there is any chance to see the Volcano without sleeping outside for the night. A day tour for instance would be great. Please let me know if you have any suggestions.
HI! Yannis: Lombok is actually quite rugged in terrain despite being an island. Most tours offer a 1N stay up in Rinjani as far as I could recall....but maybe they have something these days... Just my 2 cents worth.

You can take a day tour of northern Lombok which you offer you sights of Mount Rinjani, waterfalls and scenic highlands in that area. Most tour agencies can organise this and the cost is not expensive. It is usually a full day tour. However to actually climb Mount Rinjani is not possible in 1 day. It takes 2 days to climb to the rim of the volcano and 3 days to climb into the mountain and back.
