Could somebody recommend a not-too-expensive hotel near the Malpensa airport?
Our flight arrives at 1.00 in the night, and I am looking just for a place to spend the rest of the night and get quickly to the airport in the morning.
Thanks for your suggestions.
I'm planning to visit Lake Maggiore and its surrounding on the 22-26 Oct this year. I understand it is nearing winter.
Are tourism affected by the weather there ? Such as, ferries no longer running, or shops closed, and all that we could see are the sceneries without being able to take any ferry ride out to the other areas.
Additionally, does any knows whether the Lake Maggiore Express be operating in that period of the year.
I've checked on the website, and the schedules are til June. We would like to see the picturesque scenery.
Any help is much appreciated.

I'm trying to get from Malpensa airport to Treviglio and have seen the name of a station Milano PGP(Passante) and then just Milano PG. Is this two different stations? or two different platforms at the same station? Seen trains leaving from both, so want to make sure I'm in the right place :) Thanks
Has anyone been to the Expo/ World's Fair in Milan, Italy? It has either already started or will open soon? Any information would be helpful. Thanks!
Does Lombardy travel pass cover the cost of a regional train (Regionale 2707 for example) to Venezia and backwards?
The train is regional but Venezia is out of Lombardy, that's why I am asking.
Thank you very much in advance for the information.
how easy is it to get out of milan by motorcycle
Are there taxis at the Lecco train station? We will need one to get to our hotel in Malgrate
I will be in Milan in mid-April and would appreciate any suggestions regarding neighborhoods and hotels to stay in and things to do. Grazie.
If one is to believe the timetables (SBB and Trenitalia, as well as DB), there will be no Eurocity service between Milan and Geneva, or even to Brig, after June 13. Since I also notice there are apparently no Freccia trains scheduled after that date, I was wondering if there was some sort of mid-year timetable change. Since I can find no mention of one, even from the Man in Seat 61, does anyone have any further information on when the new timetables might be available? Thanks.
For a week-long, first-time visit to Milan, in which areas should I look to for accommodation? Would somewhere near the duomo make sense? I do like to be close to main attractions. Any recommended neighbourhoods / streets close to attractions, etc? Hotel suggestions?
How to get to Sermione from Milan. Would like to do a return trip by train in September
Hello all and thanks in advance for the help. This site is great.
-I was misinformed that in order to go to Milan to Monaco, I would need to take a train from Milano Centrale to Ventimiglia then take a train from Ventimiglia to Monaco.
-So I bought a train ticket on Trenitalia (Thello 159 depart at 15:10) from Milano Centrale to Ventimiglia, but now I realize that that same train will actually continue on to Monte Carlo.
-Do you think it would be okay if I simply stayed on the train. The far from Milan to Ventimiglia is the exact same as the fare from Milan to Monte Carlo, Monaco. Instead of getting off and taking another train could I simply stay on and continue to my destination?
-Trying to book a ticket from Milan Centrale to Ventimiglia on March 17th.
-When I go through all the options and attempt to pay I get the following error message "To continue it is required to enter user name and password"
-I am not Italian/ do not reside in Italy which is a requirement for registering. So as far as I can tell, I must purchase the ticket as a non registered user. But I get the above message.
-The train is not regional so the "7 Days out " rule shouldn't be an issue.
Thank you in advance to anyone that is able to offer some information about this. I have read through a couple of threads that say this is more difficult than it should be but I have also heard that it's fairly simple. Maybe I am missing something? Looking forward to getting this done as soon as possible. As I understand it, the tickets get more and more expensive the closer you get to the travel date. So I would like to book as far in advance as possible in order to save money on my trip. Thank You
Sometime back on a TV programme I saw a café nearby the opera house where the retired opera singers frequent and often exercise their singing ability. Does anyone know where this is and the name please.

I have been unable to find the ferry schedules online for April, 2015, for passenger transport between Varenna and Bellagio. I will be coming by train from Venice to Varenna then wish to take the ferry to Bellagio to stay there for several nights. Could you please either give me the correct website, or advise me on the frequency of ferries? Thank you ever so much.
During my stay in Milan which will be soon I'd love to go to a swimming pool just for exercise. I will stay in a hotel at Via San Gregorio. Would you mind informing me of a public or any other swimming pool and if it is opened on Sundays?
I'm thinking of going for a trip by train to Como. I am going to stay in Milan for a few days 5-9 Feb in a hotel at Via San Gregorio 30, Stazione Centrale. First, I would you mind telling me if it is reasonable to visit the town and see a part of the lake in winter. Not too chilly or empty because of lack tourists and so on. I love walking / hiking. Are there any walking paths or maybe hiking trails around the town? Secondly, I would be obliged to ensure of a railway station I would pick to start my journey. Is it Stazione Nord and LeNord Rail Company commuting there? Or maybe there are trains from the Main Station? Thanks for information.
We would like to understand before making plans to travel for the EXPO in milan : Is that international event will be dealing with the industry of food and other feeding question ? or will it be like the previous 2000 (Hannover) and 1967(Montreal) which mean an international meeting of culture in order to learn about the countries and to hear also their traditional music etc.. That is a big difference and it will be important to know the facts before deciding !
I will be staying in Monza February 9th through February 12th, and I would like to get away for some day trips while I am there.
Here are the places I would like to visit:
What's the best way to get to these cities from Monza by public transportation? Am I able to catch direct trains or buses from Monza? Or should I go to Milano Centrale and go from there?
Also, how frequent are the trains from Milano Centrale to Monza and vice verca?
Thanks for all of your help!
Could you suggest me a nice three star hotel in Sirmione? It should be possibly not far from the town center.
We only have half a day in Milan before setting off for Cinque Terre. What would you suggest we do in such a short space of time? We don't wish to go on an organised tour and our starting point is near Milano Centrale station.
Where I live the nightlife usually starts at about 12 PM. When is it normal to go out? I heard that in Barcelona people would start going out at about 1 AM, so just wondering how it works in Milan.
Hi, we will be travelling to Lecco in the second week of Febuary. We heard that trenord offers boat services on lake Como from Lecco. From were in Lecco can we take this service please?
We are hoping to travel to Lake Como this summer and are looking at the possibility of staying in Griante. Is there enough buzz in the evenings. We do not look for entertainment but like to potter about, perhaps a few shops and of course spend the evening dining but do like a 'buzz' and people watching. Is this typical of this area.
Could you suggest a budget hotel or bed and breakfast in Sirmione?
Would mind helping me a way to get to a hotel from Malpensa Airport to Via San Gregorio 30, please? Does the Malpensa Express go to the Central Station? How much is a ticket ?
I wonder if there are any buffet restaurants in Milan.
I am planning to go to Lombardia for a week this July and planning to use Lecco as a base for 3 to 4 days. We'll be traveling during the day and returning in the evening. Is the place nice with restaurants and bars?
