Could you suggest a nice budget bed and breakfast or hotel in Bergamo?
Has any used one of the private companies that offer pick up service at the airport with drop off at the hotel? We are looking at city airport taxi, a company that seems to contract with local companies and wondered if anyone had experience with them or can recommend a different company.
this will be the last leg of my Europe tour which will begin in 1 Jun 2014 . I will arrive in Milan from Venice on 2 July . I will be flying off from Zurich on 5 Jul .

The planned trip will take me from Vienna Paris , barcelona , rome , floence and venice > In Milan , other than the DUOMo , the last supper painting .. are there anything that i shud see or do when i am in Milan ..
Initially looked at Como. Having second thoughts. We have 4 nights (minus jet lag only 3 days to explore.) We are considering Varenna.
We would be catching a train from Malpensa directly to Como/Varenna after a long haul from Australia. What are the pros/cons of choosing Varenna?
A major "thing to do is" the Berlina Express for one day.
Advice welcomed. Any advice.

I would just like to know if someone could perhaps please help me by providing some information on the transportation services at night from Turin to Brescia. We are going to travel from Adro, Brescia to Turin to watch a show at the Palaolimpico Stadium which ends late at night...so I want to know if there are trains that run during the early hours of the morning after midnight? Thanking you in advance.
Grazie in anticipo.
We are planning to spend a day in Milan at the end of our holiday in July.
We are travelling from Como and would like to stay at a hotel outside the city but with good transport links so that we can easily travel in and out.
Can you recommend somewhere suitable please?
Can you tell me which hotel is the closest to the southern entrance to Fiera Milano? I am going to the World Dog Show in 2015 and want the closest hotel to the venue regardless of price.
Directions from station Milan to Duomo
What is the best mode of transportation from Tirano to Cadenabbia?
Is the subway close to the airport and what is the fare to piazza del duomo. What train do I take at the airport & where do I get off.
Is there any advantage / disadvantage to making train reservations?
Our flight from JFK is scheduled to arrive on a Friday before 7:00am. Our plan is to take the Express Train to Centralle station for the 2.5 hour trip to Venice. It would SEEM that the 9:35am departure from Milano would be reasonable goal, no?
If we get to the station early, would we be able to swap our tickets for an earlier departure?
In the more likely scenario, if our flight is delayed - and we miss the 9:35am departure, are our tickets worthless, or able to be used - without penalty on a later departure?
Hi, I shall be visiting Livigno during June and was wondering where we could go from there to visit different areas for a day trip, we shall be driving so location is not a problem as long that it doesn't exceed the 3 hrs journey. Thanks
Hello. I would like to know how much the city tax will be per person visiting Desenzano by Lake Garda 7 days from 15. of july this summer.

Does anyone know a good outdoor/adventure store in Pavia? Walking via francigena and need to buy some new lightweight shirts
Is there a direct train that leaves from Rome and goes directly (no transfer, no stops) to Malpensa airport in Milan?
My fiance and I got engaged in Lake Garda last year and are going back this April for our prewedding photoshoot. We wanted to ask if there are any vantage points where we should visit to get great photos?
We are staying in Gargnano as we previously stayed in Villa Sostaga when we got engaged.
Thanks for your help!!
We will be arriving at Bergamo airport in a few weeks and wish to buy two of the 7 day IVOL tickets for €41.10 each.
Please can anyone tell me:
1. Can the tickets be bought at the airport?
I know I can get them in Bergamo at the SAB offices or the train station but wondered if they could be obtained at the airport tourist information desk or automated ticket machines.
2. Are the tickets valid for the #1 bus from the Airport into Bergamo?
I know the tickets are not valid for the airport to Milan shuttle buses. I also know the tickets are not valid for the Malpensa train to Malpensa airport but cannot find any exclusions relating to Bergamo urban buses.
3. If I manage to get the IVOL tickets at the airport then do I need to buy a €2.10 ticket for a large suitcase when using the #1 bus into Bergamo?
This would be the case if I were buying €2.10 timed tickets but is included when purchasing ATB 24 of 72 hour tickets. I cannot find any info regarding the situation with the IVOL ticket.
Is the wine shop 'Enoteca Principessa' still in business and if so is there a website or phone number?
We will be staying in Brunate in April. Is the funicolare the only way down? We have to catch a train at 7am in the morning. We will be able to find a cab at 6 am to get us to the train station?
My husband and I are going to Italy for he 1st time. We will have a 10 hour time difference upon arrival after a 15 hour two plane ride. We know we can take train and ferry to Bellagio, but are thinking of hiring a taxi service at much more money because we may just be too tired to navigate new train system, ticket machines, terminal, etc. Does anyone have suggestions on which one would be easier? Thank you
We are travelling in a group of 6 and would like to rent a van from Milan International Airport and drive straight to Lake Maggiore in view of our luggage. We plan to stay in Lake Maggiore and use it as a base to go around. May I ask if this is a good way to go or is it unwise to drive a van in view of the narrow roads which is common in many European cities. Appreciate any comments and/or suggestions. Many thanks, Kathy from Hong Kong.
Does the bus run on Sundays
I have a layover in Malpensa in Milan from 10:30 pm to 9 am ... what can I do in milan during this time ?
Does it snow much in Bergamo? And if so which months and how much?
We want to hire a car with driver to take us from Milan train station to Iseo in Lake Iseo. Can anyone recommend a company?
We will arrive from Switzerland at 20:00 hour 26th March 2014 for a brief 1 night stopover in Milan. The next day at 15:00 hour 27th March 2014 we need to get train tickets from Milan Centrale to Bordighera. Can anyone nice please advice us on, (1) The Trenitalia website stated that new member registration is only for residence in Italy. So that means those outside Italy are barred right?
While I was doing the booking on their website, somewhere in the process I notice they said “NO INVOICE WILL BE ISSUED FOR TICKETS PURCHASED by NON-REGISTERED MEMBER”. Does it mean that if we still proceed to book & complete the payment by credit cards, no Invoice, no acknowledgement & no confirmation emails will be send to us by Trenitalia to confirm our booking + payments ?
(2) On the other hand, if (will they?) only send to me a confirmation email or booking number ( instead of the original invoice for the booking) & I got it printed out, will that be good enough to show proof to ticket master when I board the train ? Or do I need to get it stamped officially at the Tickets Office first ?
(3) Is it better to buy the Milan Centrale to Bordighera tickets from the tickets vending machine or Ticket Office at Milan Centrale when we arrive on the night before ? Will it be very expensive, and could it be risky as it may sold-out ?
(As I compared the prices online listed for that particular trip for today’s journey is at €30 p/p while if I book 1 mth in advance is €15 p/p.)
Please advice & thank you in advance for your kind assistance. With Regards. Yang
Only have one day to do this. Day trip in the morning from Milan to Como to Bellagio and then back to Milan the same evening. What is roughly the total transportation cost (e.g. train, boat, etc) roundtrip? Alternatively, there are tour operators online that sell this day trip for about $120 US dollars, that would save me the effort of figuring out all the transportation options. Does anyone know if this seems to be a reasonable price? Thanks!
