How do I get from the cruise ship port in Livorno to the train station?

We are traveling on a cruise in July and want to get from Livorno to Florence for the day. What is the best way to get to the Livorno Centrale train station?

Take the port shuttle Bus #1 to downtown Livorno, then the bus to the train Station. Ask for the Firenze Santa Maria Novella ticket. Faster would be taking a taxi to the train station. Perhaps you can get 4 in a cab to go to the station. This will give you more time in Florence by walking off the ship and into a cab. Then be bus shuttle to downtown and then bus to Train Station. :-)
