Hi everybody Let me start by thanking you all in advance. I will be in Liverpool for just 1 day (a Saturday), for about 6 hours. I’ve a list as long as your arm on places I would like to see and things to do, but there is only so much you can do in 6 hours. My question is, ‘if you had only 6 hours to spend in Liverpool, which 4 or 5 things would you not miss’. Also, are there any good restaurants or food bars at a reasonable price near the main attractions. Once again thank you for your help. Dave
Hi, you shouldn't miss Albert Dock and the riverfront. There are great restaurants and bars there so make sure to reserve enough time for this part of town. Chinatown and the surrounding area is nice as well. To save time (eg for great shopping opportunities in the city centre ;) I would skip the cathedrals because I think they are quite ugly. But some people like them so maybe you have to find out for yourself I guess. Enjoy Liverpool! Sabs

Personally I quite like the 'new' Catholic Cathedral. It is only a short walk up the hill from the city centre. It is a rare decent piece of 1960's architecture. There is also the Tate Liverpool Art gallery down at the docks, if you like world class 20th century fine art, or if it is raining and you want something inddors to do that is free.

hi, just come back from a trip to Liverpool and it was great. i would take a trip to the Docks where there are lovely little shops and cafes, also you can walk alongside the Mersey and check out the Liver building. You can then head to the City centre and have a walk down Matthew Street past the famous Cavern Club. I didnt spent too much time in the city centre concentrating more on the docks and Beatles tours (although time is going to make it difficult to do any tours) We did cover the Beatles Story museum in about 2 hours so it may be an option
