The only pub of any note in Liscannor is Egan's. They have occassional Traditional music sessions. The food is always good there. Liscannor is a small fishing village more than it is a town. You will be closer to Galway than Shannon, but neither is too far away. I would say Galway is about an hour and a half and Shannon would be closer to two, given the road conditions.

You are close to some great sites though, the Burren is at your door. The Cliffs of Moher are less than thirty minutes away. The heart of Traditional Music, Doolin, is about twenty minutes away. If you get to Doolin, stop by McGann's Pub in the lower village or Gus O'Connors on Fisher Street.

You are most welcome. You will enjoy the upper end of Clare. If you get a chance, stop into the Liscannor Rock Shop. It is a delightful shop, if you are into carved stones and crystals. The little tea room is a great place to take a respite from the coast road.
