We visited both places in September about 4 years ago and the weather was great! Actually, I have a video of our trip (with my sister) at youtube.com/watch?v=NE-LEb7P... - this will give you idea of how great weather was during those days in September. The dates we went were during the first two weeks of September. Of course, weather is very hard to predict and most people would say "it depends". You can look at weather underground.com to look at climate patterns in a location in the past 5 years or so....Have fun in Portugal!

Well, you can't predict, but in my view September is the best month foer Lisbon and Sintra. Temperatures should be at 25° during the day (Lisbon might be warmer) and 15° at night (Lisbon warmer). Rain can always occur, but should not be too much, if.
Enjoy your trip!

No-one can tell you exactly so far in advance what the day-to-day weather will be like so far but climate averages will give you a rough idea:
Lisbon wordtravels.com/Cities/Portu...
Sintra holidaycheck.com/climate-wet...
Should be very pleasant indeed.

Simple answer: the weather will probably be good, sunny and 20 something degrees, as it's always in the Summer, every day but 1% of them. I believe the fellow who asked is aware than none of us is God. So answer is provided based in years long of living the September in Portugal.
