Is it worthwhile to travel to Limoges to purchase a Limoges china gift? Can the same be purchased in Paris? or the USA? Thank you.
Ellen - it depends where you live and if you have to get to Limoges by public transport. Please advise your whereabouts?

You can certainly buy antique Limoges in Paris such as limogesmarechal.fr/osc/produ... and in the US: http://www.limogesantiques.com/ limogesboutique.com/parisfra... You'll have to visit Limoges itself to go to the factory shop for modern items....but it also sells online: royal-limoges.fr/boutique_us... and there are lots of other suppliers.

Of course you don't have to go to the factory to purchase modern Limoges items, you can buy whole dinner services of it in department stores in Paris, and small gift items all over the place, including little boxes in a shop I was looking in just a couple of weeks ago in the rue de Rivoli! But all depends on what you want, exactly.
