Hey Ellyse I got an answer back from that hotel in Lijiang but the website is all in Chinese. They offered me rooms at 180 or 380 .What are the rooms like ? are they with private bath? and what is the name of the hotel in English? thanks a lot! Ruthi

There's no "English" name, the pinyin is Zhengfu Caotang as I've said above. They actually have 7 different rooms, I'll list all of them with the relevant URLs so that it's clearer to you. All have 24-hour hot water and broadband Internet access. My translations of the room names might be a little "off" but I did my best with impromptu! Stone Lotus Night Study (http://www.zfct.net/cyzn/slyd.html): 2 rooms, 1 living room, 1 bathroom; 580 RMB Autumn Leaves on West Hill (http://www.zfct.net/cyzn/xshy.html): 2 rooms, 1 living room, 2 bathrooms; 580 RMB for the entire suite, or 480/180 RMB for main/side room Red Phoenix (http://www.zfct.net/cyzn/dfhs.html): 1 room, 1 living room, 1 bathroom; 380 RMB Draw of the Beautiful Night (http://www.zfct.net/cyzn/lxy.html): 1 room, 1 living room, 1 bathroom; 380 RMB Call and Answer between Fisherman and Woodcutter (http://www.zfct.net/cyzn/yjwd.html): standard twin with ensuite; 180 RMB A Phoenix Asking for Another (http://www.zfct.net/cyzn/fqh.html): standard double with ensuite; 180 RMB Plum Blossoms Thrice (http://www.zfct.net/cyzn/mhsn.html): standard triple with ensuite; 270 RMB

Dear Ellyse this is the reply I got from the hotel but I am still not sure how I can make the booking : the email from the hotel: "yes our room have private bathroom. there have nodirect flight from Xi'an to Lijiang and you should flight from Xi'an to Kunming and flight Kunming to Lijiang. our hotel have no english name. the chinese name is ZHENGFUCAOTANG. so if you can't find our hotel, you should telephone 0871__ 5178111. and we can take a car to Lijiang airport and pick you up. now you should pay 380yuan to the account9558822512000024719. the account name is 陆斌斌. " They don't give me the name of the bank or branch no or the location. Can you help me out here? you are going to be there in January right? maybe you could do something?? I will be there (I hope April 29th till May 3rd and I know that is Golden week so I want a firm reservation before we arrive in China; thanks a million!

That's a bank account with Industrial and Commercial Bank of China. The account number and Chinese characters of the name of the account holder is all that we need to do a bank transfer in China. They need you to transfer money to them to hold the reservation. If you want their address or other details, why not ask them directly? How did you want me to help you? Pay for you in advance?! I could do the transfer for you, but then how would I get the money from you? Also, it's not necessarily 380 RMB for each night, different prices for different rooms. I have already listed everything above so I'm not going to do so again.

of course thank you .You are right there is no point in you dealing with them when I am dealing with them directly. I just don't think that the bank here in Israel will be able to transfer using the Chinese characters. I will ask them for the relevant details. Thank you!

Granted the language barrier of course, I won't mind helping you do the transfer if needed. I'm not sure if it would be easier for you to wire the money to a Singapore bank account than one in China, as I would be back home in Singapore during February. VTMail me if you need help.

Hi all, just to let you guys know that I stayed in ZhengfuCaotang when I was in Lijiang. Had a wonderful time there, the room was beautiful, the service was excellent and the staff really took care of us. Only one thing to note - this joint is in a remote corner of Su He Old Town and no vehicles are allowed into the area at all. So this means, you need to walk under the moonlight (no street lighting) to find your hotel if you've been partying in Lijiang Old Town for too long! Point to note - the hotel accepts visa, ask them if they are able to take note of your credit card number instead and bill you thru your credit card? G

Charlie, any reason why Moon Inn is not a good choice? This is an open forum and it'll be good to share useful info instead of asking folks to contact you to book a hotel. Soliciting for business is not allowed here btw.
