Hi I'm coming to Liege for the Everton game on 2 October. Can anybody advise of good places for a few beers with the locals please? Most Everton fans are likely to head for the central areas - any English pubs / Irish bars. I'd prefer somewhere a little more obscure to mingle with locals. Any suggestions gratefully accepted. Thanks
try the Celtic Ireland (cityplug.be/fr/Liege/W8GNQLA... the reds visited Liège a few weeks ago, there were many of them to visit the place! have fun and enjoy Liège's welcoming spirit!

Thanks for your suggestion Gilbert, but I'd prefer somewhere quieter. Most English fans head straight for an Irish bar ! What is Outremeuse like? Is it less likely that that area will be taken over by English fans? Thanks again Bren

it is indeed less likely :-) to meet some over there than in the "Carré" quarter! there is a good looking tavern vrey close to St.Pholien church (well known from Simenon's roman): the Randahxe café; but you can simply try the first place you feel OK for you, and that's it !
