Can I walk from Vaduz-Schaan to Buchs SG?

by Jasonconga Online Now Nov 3, 2009 at 7:53 AM

hey guys,
I will spend a few hours in Vaduz-Schaan on Friday and then want to take a train from Buchs SG to Chur. I was hoping to get to the Buchs train station for the 12:01 or 13:01 train. How long would it take to walk from Vaduz to Buchs? An hour? Is it easy to hitchhike over to Buchs? What about to Chur?

Yes, you can walk from Vaduz to Buchs, thats approx. 5km.
You can make your way out to the river Rhine and cross the river over the old covered wood bridge, which is near the new bridge.
Then follow the dam north till the bridge in Buchs, from there its 5 Minutes to the railway station.
I would suggest to may spent 2 more hours and visit the little medival town Werdenberg.

From Vaduz to Chur is approx. 30km.
Yes, you can hike that, it's all flat.
You best follow the bicycle signs, there is an official trail, mostly along the river Rhine. The bicycel trails are marked with small red signs.

    Have fun
