i am working in beghazi as a nurse and i want to travel to egypt or tunisia. i wanna know the safest possible routes in going to these places if you travel alone.
There are luages from the luage station in Tripoli going directly to Ben Gardane (TN). Very safe. No problems. From there is it easy to find buses to Gabes then bus or train both northbound and westbound. Everywhere in Tunesia is safe. I am sure there are luages between Beghazi and Tripoli also.

Ps. In some instances it may be necessary to leave the luage at the Libya/Tunesia border and take a bus to Ben Gardane, but it is very easy to do and everyone in your luage from Tripoli will be changing together.

for Tunisia I would definitely suggest an airplane. not because of the safety issue, but rather because it would be quicker as the distance from Benghazi to Tunisia is quite long... you may take a plane to Tripoli then fly to Tunis... the total cost of return ticket would be around 300-400 LYD...
