HELP, am traveling, trying to, Lhasa via train from Chendgu in September 2012. having great difficulty locating a travel agency to arrange located in Lhasa? Or should I just locate one in Chendgu? From information I have received the best are located in Tibet... Looking for medium price for under a week of travel. My husband 72 years and self 66 years....in good health. Traveled to over 50 countries so not adverse to "challenges", yet now prefer a comfortable hotel. Thoughts, PLEASE Thank you
Leila, My husband (62) and I (60) are also wanting to travel to tibet via Chengdu in August 2012 - I have contacted several travel agencies to purchase the train tickets and for a four/five day tour of Lhasa (at a very reasonable price) - there have been changes to the Tourist permit for Tibet - there must be at least four people of the same nationality on the visa - we have travelled extensively are seem to be of the same mind set 'not minding a challege'.

Are you both Canadians? If so, are you interested in joining our group of 3 to Tibet first week of November? Please contact me at acct261@excite.com if you are interested! We are planning to go with Spinn Cafe, very reliable (based on online reviews) and reasonable prices. Thanks!

My husband and I are 60 and are planning a trip to China/Tibet in September/October 2012. We will be trying to travel independtly through China but that is not a possibility for Tibet so we need a group of 6 Americans. We would like to see Lhasa, Gyantse, and Shigatse and either fly in from Shangra La or train in from Xining.

@lola - May I suggest you post a separate query on the travel forum and specify in your subject matter that you are looking for American fellow travellers? Imho, you might get a better/more specific response that way! ;-) Cheers!
