We are visiting London for very few days next week to see Kylie and I would like to pop over to Leiden by boat to see the Pilgrim/Mayflower relevant attractions and to have lunch with a friend there. Is it feasible and possible to take a day trip by boat or boat-train in the AM and return to London in the PM? Which carrier would do this? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Only feasable if you take night boats twice. How about taking the Eurostar train? There are more trains in service to Brussel. From there change trains to Leiden. PJ

It is feasible by plane. Business people do this all the time. London, either to Rotterdam or to Amsterdam. Of course the checkin times may spoil it a bit. However, flying into Rotterdam, you can get out of the airport very quickly because it is a very small airport and you'll have no luggage. From either city, it's 30-45 mins by train to Leiden.
