We are planning a trip from Kathmandu to Leh in the middle of May. We want to see as much as possible for that small time pdriod and we are going to capture everything with our cameras.

Can we make that trip as a hole? What is the road condition and where can we stop to take some videos on the road?

If you have any recomandations for us we will be very glad to hear them :-)

Hii I am planning trip to leh in may end. I would be travelling alone so i want to know is it safe to travel alone there. I would be staying there for 8-10 days. How much will it cost me and which all places i should visit.

Hi all,

Pangong Tso is one of most beautiful lake in Ladakh. It's located 6 hours away from the city of Leh. As it commonly known, traveling to Pangong Lake required permit and the permit will being issues only to group of two or more people. Since I am traveling solo now, I'm really dependant to other travelers (I know it's not yet atouristic season now in Ladakh) in order to get the permit and thus fullfill my long-time dream of seeing Pangong Tso. If any of you planning to go to Pangong on 17/4 or 18/4, please let me know. I will check this space from time to time, or you also welcomes to PM me.

I planned my dream trip to Ladakh for this coming August but my companions have refused to accompany me,I have a ready itinerary,a ready plan in place and I know almost everything one needs to know before going to Ladakh. Hello. I live in Kolkata with my father and mother. They are 56 and 46 year old respectively. I am 16. Leh has always engrossed me and I desire to visit Leh and Ladakh after my examinations in June. I am a photography and astronomy enthusiast and Leh is just the perfect place to do both! I've heard that one can get to see the Milky Way (Oh My God!) during the power-cuts (which are frequent, as I've heard) from the roof of a hotel. Then there are the numerous other beautiful places like the Pangong Lake, Nubra valley etc. However, there is this thing which is troubling me-Acute Mountain Sickness. My parents aren't young anymore and my mother as well as I has breathing difficulties. Will it be alright if we visit Leh? Because, truly, since 3 Idiots, there is no other thing in mind except the blue of Pangong Tso. And the thought that I'll get to see the milky way, adds to it. Please help me, sirs and madams. Hi, I am planning to visit Leh in August 2013. We are planning to go via airplane to Leh and then ride to Manali. Does any one we can hire bikes in Leh and then drop them at Manali and if possible how much would that cost us.

I plan to travel to Leh in October. I know it is very cold, and that I need to take it slowly, but my question is, is it at all possible? I read somewhere that the passes out of Leh are all closed in October. Is this true? Do they get snowed in so early in the cold season? Until what date is it possible to go to Leh by car/bus and make it out safely? Thank you.

I am planning to visit Leh-Ladakh and surrounding places (maybe including Srinangar-Sonmarg too) during early September this year(2012) and looking forward to a trip which is flexible and not too rushed(as I have some 2 weeks in hand). How far is the last motorable path or piece of land in terms of KM if one drives from Delhi ? Also please inform the complete route to be taken from Delhi .

I already booked flight tickets to Leh, and also a hotel. All I need is a scorpio, or an innova to drive around there. Can I get info about that?

Hi all, I and wife are travelling to Leh in June for 7N/8D. We have already completed all arrangements for the trip through a local tour operator, including pre-blocked air tickets (to and fro Delhi). Our customized itinerary is probably the best that one can get since it was decided after taking help from frequent travellers to Leh (thanks to them!). It is of course much different and better than what typical commercial tour operators generally offer. Also, the customized package includes the best possible hotels, meals, other requirements, local transportation, etc at a decent price. We are travelling from 14th June to 21st June. It will be great to have company of another couple who is willing/planning to travel to Leh during the same dates (since the tour operator will be able to offer discounted air tickets only for those dates). More importantly, local transportation cost will be much reduced if the Innova/Scorpio is shared by two families since there's a good amount of travelling around Leh. Hence, overall package price per person will reduce. Ideally, four people in an SUV should be good enough for sight seeing. I plan to fly from New Delhi, how can I deal with altitude sickness? Will the weather be better at this time? 2. How hard is it to buy the tickets at New Delhi once I arrive? I am planning a trip to Leh in june 2012 by car . I want to go to Leh from Delhi via manali then while returning I want to come through Srinagar . I want to know if it is possible to go in a car on this route ? ( or only 4X4s can go there ). We are a group of ten people in the age-group 60+. We are visiting Leh for 4 days during the last week of September.
