I'm looking for high-end/top of the line type of gear for about 5 days. A few places online have "performance" packages for just a bit over 100 euro (for 5 days). I wouldn't mind paying that or even a bit more for good equipment.
Any recommendations as to where to look, and also a place with a decent customer service, so that they can fix any issues that may come up, exchange gear midway, wax boards/sharpen edges if needed?
I am looking at purchasing a 24 hour Paris travel card, this is for public transit, nothing more. My question is, once it is validated is it valid until midnight of the day purchase, or is it valid for an actual 24 hours which may overlap until the expired time the next day.
I've read that there is a performance of Faure's Requiem somewhere in Montreuil on Saturday 14 December 2013. Does anyone have more details - venue, time, how to get tickets?
Trying to find information about an old falling down castle, or large mansion away from town. It was derelect in the late 1960's when I stayed at a friend of our familys house up in the hills a few miles from town. It had a belltower I remember climbing up to, the stairs were falling apart, and were barely hanging onto the walls when Michelle, a boy about my age and I went climbing around in there.
We are staying in Villefranche-sur-mer during Grand Prix 2014. I have heard that not all trains stop at Villefranche on the way to Monaco during Grand Prix due to the crowds - is this correct? Any information on which trains do stop in Villefranche would be appreciated.
We have 3-4 days travelling from Paris to Castelnaudry to join a canal boat cruise. Does anyone know good ideals/contacts for hiring a rental car in Paris and where we could leave it near Castelnaudry? Most grateful for any ideas thankyou!! time of year is June
We will be arriving to Chamonix from Zurich Airport by train on December 24th. We are travelling with a Swiss Transfer rail ticket that allows us to travel all the way to Chamonix but Les Houches is extra. The train we are travelling on to Chamonix continues on to Les Houches. Is there any way to buy tickets directly from the conductor so that we do not have to get off the train and wait for the next one? I have tried to book the ticket on the SNCF website and it should cost 19.5 Euros for the whole family but there is no way to have the ticket delivered to us. There does not appear to be an option to buy online and PRINT the tickets. If I select mail delivery and enter United States I get re-directed to Rail Europe where I will be charged a total of 65 Euros which seems outrageous for the 15 minute journey. Any ideas?
We're two young couples staying in an apartment for free in Paris over Christmas/New Years, but are planning to do a side trip so that we can see more of France. Our plan is:
12/23, 12/24, 12/25 -- Paris
12/26 -- Loire
12/27, 12/28 -- Bordeaux
12/29, 12/30, 12/31 -- Paris
Sound reasonable? We'd rent a car and make a road trip of it.
Any tips on where to stay in Loire? We'd like to see a few Chateaux -- any recommendations?
Any tips on where to stay in Bordeaux? We'd love to do some wine tasting and try out some great restaurants. I've heard the town St. Emilion is cool, but we could also stay somewhere in the countryside...
We're definitely on a budget.
Any words of wisdom would be appreciated, as we are new to France!
Couple taking first trip to Paris and trying to experience as much as possible! Arriving into Gare De Nord station & staying in San Germain Du Pres area.
1. Is it best to purchase a Paris (city) Pass that combines museums & transportation?
2. could anyone recommend area groupings for the 'must see' places ?
3. Is it best to take a taxi from train station to hotel, then taxi to CDG upon departure.
I'm unaccustomed to the public transportation. :>(
It appears as if I've left it too late to book accommodation for the Le Mans 2012 motogp round.
Can anyone help with possible options for accommodation close to the track? It will be two people travelling, we will have a car and aren't too fussy with accommodation. Probably mid range would suit us best.
I also heard some locals open up their doors for the events. Is there a website where there might be some information for this?
I appreciate any replies or advice I can get.
Hiya, my other half and I are off to Le Mans 8-12 July and would love to stay in a chateau or picturesque accommodation within maybe a 40km drive of Le Mans, preferably to the north as we will be driving over from Calais.
Don't really want to pay more than £150 per night per room b&b.
Once accom is sorted we can look at things to do as won't be at Le Mans all the time.
If anyone has any suggestions......
I'v lost connection with an old pen friend from le mans ! can any body help me with online phone directories or youth popular sites i cn search on ! i know it might sound redicolouse but life some times is redicolouse, i will appreciate any kind of help , thanks in advance.
Hi, everyone! My husband and I will be doing PR at Le Mans this year. We will be working practice/qualifying and, of course, the race itself, but we will have a week of freedom in between. What to do?? One week is, of course, not enough time to see or do everything we might wish, and I am somewhat overwhelmed by all of the options. I could really use some assistance organizing and planning our limited free time.
We are fairly easily amused - favorite interests and pastimes include: wine/wineries; FOOD of all sorts; cathedrals/chateaux/gardens/quaint villages; motorsports, of course; and horses. Help! I briefly looked into an equestrian vacation in the Loire Valley; the dates were perfect and it all sounded quite lovely ... but my husband doesn't ride and while he could see sights and taste wine, etc., while I was riding, I was afraid we might not see enough of each other. After all, it's supposed to be "our" vacation, not just mine. ;-) So ... we dispensed with that idea, somewhat reluctantly.
We could rent a car and focus on the Loire Valley, or we could travel farther afield (by rail?) to Provence/Cote d'Azur or some other region. We might also like to splurge and spend some extra on one or two nights at a really nice chateau or hotel. Ideas, anyone? All suggestions and advice gratefully accepted!
Can anyone help?? I live near London and come to Le Mans every year for the 24 hour race in June. However this year I cannot get tickets for camping at Houx Annexxe. I have contacted l'automobile club du l'ouest but they do not have any available. Can anyone help or know where I may be able to find a ticket??
