I am looking for a car rental agency in Le Havre where I can rent a car on a Sunday, and return it to Paris the following Thursday. I do not have the option to change either the day or the week or the necessity of returning the car to Paris, so please don't suggest making changes. So far, I can't find any agency open on a Sunday. We arrive early Sunday morning from a cruise and have obligations that require us to drive elsewhere that morning. All practical solutions are welcome.
have you try www.autoeurope.com www.kemwel.com sunday most closes here, and if the agency is not attached to a train station (even some close by 18h) or an airport, they will be close. How are you arriving in Le Havre? maybe the same company can help you.

gwened is right that only car rental agencies at airports and major train stations are likely to be open on Sunday. I noticed that Avis reported that its office at the Le Havre airport is open from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday. Is that a misprint, or is it really open for just an hour late in the evening? I don't know, but it would be worth your time to call Avis and ask for the correct hours. If that doesn't work, then Plan B would be to find the website for the Le Havre airport and call each of the car rental agencies listed to see if they are open Sunday mornings. If you find one, then your biggest problem will be getting a taxi from the cruise stop to the airport. Good luck! Bill

good point, yes the hours at Le Havre are wrong, they are close on Sunday car rentals, but if you rent they can leave the keys at the airport overnight counter for the renter to pick up and then return to open office. I have done it here with Hertz and I think Avis or others have this service too. the car brokers will tell you too and most of the time they have better rates. I used to do them for many years when live in the USA cheers

Did you call Avis and ask? I say this because it was on the Avis website where it reported the office being open for an hour on Sunday. I figure that since most local offices are reported as closed on Sunday, it would be worth a phone call to confirm this odd piece of information on the company's website... Bill

I also saw the same one hour opening at Avis. It's either a misprint, or business is better than we thought, and they only feel they have to be available for one hour a day.
