Wanting to know what the train trip from Paris to Switzerland is like and what to see - should we stop and get out along the way etc..

The obvious choice for a train trip from Paris to Switzerland is by TGV, and your ticket won't allow you to just get of somewhere and then board another one to continue. The trip is fast and comfortable.

We did it this year and it was great easy and smooth. I agree with the previous VTr you cnt just get on and off. It depends where in Switzerland you aqre going. Bern was a lovely city as was basel and interlaken if you are visiting the Bernese Oberland.
