    • The Breakers Holiday Apartments,Old Burleigh Road, Surfers Paradise,

      Gold Coast 2 hours ago

Hi all. Ive posted before regarding a place to stay and i came across this apartment. I kinda like it already, but before i actually book it, is this place convenient enough? Is public transport access close enough? Cafe? All within walking distance maybe? I am travelling with my mom, hence I would prefer everything within walking distance. I am aware that to visit 'things-do-to' places, we may need to travel by bus, but what i wanted to know is if we were to take the morning off or the day off from travelling by transport, going down to this street, will there be a handful to see and do? Or should I make a booking at "Breakfree Peninsula Apartment"? Thank you all!

      conditions and weather september

Lord Howe Island May 23, 2013 at 5:28 AM

Hi, I'm planning a short escape to LHI while on my trip to Oz. How's the weather then? is it warm enough to snorkel wihtout a neoprene? I'm aware it's the beginning of spring and other places mainland might be a little bit chilly, but as it seems to be a subtropical locations, I was wondering whether it is worth to stay more or less depending on the temperatures and possibility (or not) to swim and so.

      Thanks!

    • Northside - Southside

      Brisbane May 6, 2013 at 8:53 PM

I have just moved to Brisbane and am staying in Nundah temporarily. I have just had an interview for a job in Carindale, I was not intending to look for work anywhere other than the CBD or Northside as my sister lives North and I am more familiar with this side of the river. But jobs proved hard to find and I had to cast the net a bit further! So, I am wondering what the best thing would be to do if I did get this job - Where to live and transportwise what would be cheaper.

Should I live on the Southside and commute by public transport or car, OR stay North so im closer to my sister and the city for social convenience, and drive over toll bridges to get to Carindale. I had to get a train and bus today, which was fine but it took an hour! And would cost about $10 return I think, with a GO card.
Tolls, GO card charges, commute time, social life, working around the Brisbane river its all a bit of a logistical nightmare haha.
Basically I just want to be within about half an hour of work, dont mind paying a little for transport costs - I will be working in the westfield mall so I doubt I could park right at work anyway, bus would be an option or park somewhere free and walk. Don't have a car at moment but will get one once job is sorted.

My friends and I are traveling to Gold Coast for the first time in June 2013. Bought tickets already! But we haven't got any idea of where to stay! Surfers paradise is always recommended when I survey online. So SP it is. Could you please please recommend where to stay in SP? A convenient hotel or an apartment which is affordable? For 4 adults? Thank you so much for any feedback.

I'm thinking a trip on Celebrity around the December time frame. I would appreciate any recommendations be e-mailed to me @ giodoc1@gmail.com.

Hello, Me and the soon to be wife will be taking a 15 day holiday road tripping from the Gold Coast to Cairns to see the Great Barrier Reef in January of 2014. We're going up the coast in a caravan/camper and we're looking for places to eat, sleep, drink and have fun.
We both love to hike, surf, drink, and lay on the beach to let the sun burn off our hangovers.
Also, what places could we stay at along the way? We been to caravan parks that are loaded with kids and crotchety couples, we're looking for a more laid back atmosphere, would love to meet like minded people along the way.
      Please reply back, thanks.

      Australia May 9, 2013 at 1:54 AM

Hi all I'm new to the forum and was just looking for some advice,
About 2 months ago I obtained a 1 Year Working Visa for Australia and am due to travel there at the end of June from the UK.
My passport became slightly damaged since then and only had a year and a half left on it so I decided its proabbly best just to renew it before leaving. I didn't realise at the time but the passport number also changes with this new passport which is attached to my Australian visa.

What is the best thing to do here and has anyone had a similar experience?

Hullo forum folks! I'm having a bit of trouble finding budget accomodation in Launceston for the January period that suitable for a family of 5 adults (including an elderly couple). But I found this place called Batman Fawkner Inn, does anyone know of it? They apparently just recently reopened and I can't find any reviews online. They are located at 39 Cameron Street. Anyone who knows the place, I'd be grateful for your opinion about the place. Thanks in advance.

Day Tours to Bridestowe Lavender Farm

by Tsubame Online Now Nov 21, 2005 at 9:47 AM

Hi, am in a bit of a fix now. I could only find Tiger Wilderness Tour doing the Lavender Farm tour from the internet. BUT, they are already fully booked for the day! To prevent further disappointment, we have booked the Cradle Mt. day tour with them, so that leaves us with only 5th Dec, Monday to visit the farm. Can anybody advise what other day tour company also have the Lavender tour? We will be based in Launceston. And if we cannot get a tour, what is the best possible way to get there via public transport as we do not drive? Thanks very much.

      Accomodation in or around Launceston

by Audrey118 Online Now May 25, 2005 at 1:07 AM

This is well in advance planning, but becos there will be at least 10 pax, if not 12, and during late January, it is peak season. We will be flying in from Melbourne to Hobart, driving past Richmond to stay 2 nights in Bichenon (any accomodation tips there also welcome - we have considered Diamond Bay), and then off to Launceston for another 2 nights. we are looking for exclusive type of accomodation where cost is irrelevant. Some accomodation does not permit children - we have one child, 10 years old travelling with us. It may be a private villa, chef runned historical home, or scenic view apartments. It need not be smack in city centre, as we will have cars...10-15 mins outside of Launceston is OK with us. thanks in advance
