    • Pizzeria near Paseo Maritimo?

      Benalmádena Feb 7, 2015 at 7:06 AM

I think that's the name of the area at least, it is the beach near the Puerto Marina area? There used to be a nice pizzeria at the very beginning of the restaurant area, just next to the opening to get down to the beach, that my family used to LOVE. We are finally going back this summer after almost 10 years, and I was wondering if anyone can tell me if it's still there? (Google maps still shows the blue tops as it used to be so I have some hope?)

    • Torremolinos to Tarifa.

      Torremolinos Mar 1, 2015 at 8:45 AM

I'll be in Torremolinos in May. Can anyone tell me the best way to get to Tarifa? I'm taking the ferry over to Tangier for a day trip and return. I had no luck on Avanza Bus website, and some other websites are in spanish with no translation. The ferry is the easy part, just need to get to Tarifa, round trip. Thankyou in advance!

How can we travel from Seville to Lisbon

      Sevilla Feb 4, 2015 at 6:09 AM

      Hello VTers
Can anyone please advise me. My friend and I have plans to travel in Spain and Portugal this spring. We arrive in Seville (Sevilla) and we have booked five days in Seville to explore the city and environs.
However we also want to travel to Rondo? Is this feasible in a day?
Secondly we want to also visit Cadiz and Jerez de la Frontera.
Eventually we want to end up in Lisbon (Lisboa).
I have reading the Lonely Planet guidebook and have been on line to try to find a way we can travel between Seville and Lisbon, by bus or by train, but can not find any information.
Would people think it would be a good idea to stop over in Cadiz and/or Jerez and continue our journey to Lisbon. I think I have found the Spanish railway finishes Huelva and the Portuguese starts Faro and there is a bus between the two.
      Please help and advise.
      Jonathan

    • day out in Alpujarras on the bus

by MelPotter Online Now Jul 7, 2008 at 2:19 PM

Any ideas for where to go on the bus as a day trip from Granada? I'm going the first week in September, so it'll be very hot, but would like to do a shortish circular walk in this region, although have to rely on public transport.

Any ideas or tips gratefully received!

Thank you all for your help. I'm trying to finalize my trip to Europe and I need this information before I book my hotel in Granada. Thanks again for your time!

    • driving alone in Spain

by LightPanther Online Now May 31, 2004 at 4:09 PM

Hi there I (male) was thinking about hiring a small camper or motorhome and spending a fortnight or so looking at different regions in Spain. But I have some concerns:- It sounds like a great idea, but on the other hand, I have never been to Spain before, don't speak Spanish ("solo un poco!"), never dirven a left had vehicle before etc. Do you think this is a wise idea, or am I biting off more than I can chew? Would I be allowed to park such a vehicle in small villages or rural locations just at the side of the road? (wouldn't particularly want to tour campsites) Most important, would it e safe to do that? And would the police be ok with it? I would also be grateful if anyone knows any surprise trip-ups (such as petrol pumps that only accept credit cards, that kind of thing). I should say that my reason for travelling is to sound out regions with a view to a possible place to live. The alternative is to go on an organised coach tour, which obviously eliminates some of the above concerns, but on the other hand tends to concentrate on Big Cities, Museums etc. What do you recommend? What do you think? Is a foreigner likely to be safe enough driving around Spain like this? (mainly small town / rural, but not exclusively). Please do reply and in advance many thanks (muchas gracias) :) Mark
