WE ARE STAYING AT THE NIPA BEACH RESORT. I NEED TO KNOW HOW IS THE TRANSPORTATION AT THE LAOAG AIRPORT AND HOW TO REACH THIS RESORT. IT SAYS IT IS ABOUT 40 MINS FROM THE AIRPORT. CAN I HIRE A TAXI AT THE AIRPORT? AND APPROXIMATELY HOW MUCH IT WOULD BE?...WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO REACH THIS RESORT? ALSO, IS IT EASY TO TAKE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION FROM THE RESORT? ANY BODY KNOWS THIS PARTICULAR RESORT.? ANY INFORMATION HELPFUL ABOUT THE LOCATION OF THIS RESORT AND TRANSPORTATION AROUND WOULD BE REALLY APPRECIATED THANK YOU!!
Hi, I've stayed at this resort several times the past 2 years and to fully enjoy the area, you will need to rent a car as the road in front of the resort is not the main highway and only jeepneys pass this road to Paoay and it is not on short intervals. The resort is around 500-1000 meters from the main highway where you can take a bus or jeepney to any point in Ilocos or even going to Manila. I'm not sure if there are taxis in Laoag but there are usually vans for rent there that can take you anywhere for a fee. Not sure about the price though. We always took a car when we traveled there. The resort has airport-pick up services and the last time I inquired late 2004, it was P1,500 or US$30 per trip. The resort also has vans for rent and they offer tours around Ilocos for Guests for a fee. Most of the visitors here are Taiwanese and you might wonder when you arrive at the resort whether you really are in the Philippines or in Taiwan as the signages are in Taiwanese or Chinese characters. This won't be a problem however as the resort is easy to navigate and resort staff is always there whenever and wherever you need them-- you always meet them everywhere, constantly maintaining resort grounds. i love this resort for its cleanliness, friendliness of the staff and for the beautiful beach. The sunset is unforgetable. Food price is reasonable and my favorite is their steamed crab wrapped in foil. Actually, they have an exotic arrays of live seafood for you to choose from in their restaurants-- from lobster to deep sea crabs. I hope you'll love it here as I did during our visit there. If you have any questions, pls feel free to contact me. Enjoy your trip in Ilocos!

You are welcome! Usually when you rent a car in the area, a driver is already included so you won't have to worry about getting lost. You'll save on time and money if you rent a car instead of joining the tours offered by the resort because the tours usually go by bus and in big groups. You'll be better off in control of your own time and itineraries. You can visit most of the nearby tourist spots in a day. AS for diving spots, I heard that there's a good spot somewhere in the area but not close to the resort although the resort do offer snorkelling trips with professional Guides and Instructors.

HI! THE ANSWER I RECEIVED FROM JUDS IS COMPLETELY CORRECT. I HAD TO RENT A VAN FOR TWO DAYS BUT WITH THE DRIVER...FROM 7 AM TO 7PM IT COST 3000 PESOS PER DAY. WE ALSO BOUGHT LUNCH AND DINER TO THE DRIVER. ACTUALLY, HE WAS REALLY NICE AND VERY PATIENT WITH US. HE MORE THAN DESERVED IT. THE REST OF THE TIME WE DID IT ON OUR OWN. WE TOOK PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION WICH WAS NICE AND MET LOCAL PEOPLE AND SAW HOW THEIR DAILY LIFE GOES BY. VERY INTERESTING. YOU CAN TAKE LOCAL TRANSPORTATION TO GO TO VIGAN OR PUGUDPUD
