I was, a very long time ago, stationed in Landstuhl, and have been thinking about returning for a trip down Memory Lane. There are a couple of places I'm particularly interested in revisiting: First is the restaurant The Stade Keller----it was a behind a building down the stairs kind of place with fabulous Chateaubriand... Second is a place called Der Goldner Adler---and I'm not even sure if that is the correct spelling--it was a cafe/?lodging? Anyone been to Restaurant De Tony in Kindsbach? I'm wondering if this is the place that used to be 'Tonys Pizzaria'---hmmm.... Are there are any resonably priced places to stay? Would be so appreciative for any information. Thank You.
I also was stationed at Landstuhl and worked in Surgery at the hospital. I also was a night manager for the NCO Club Caduceus. I stayed in Germany and worked for Bond Motors in Vogelweh, etc. I was stationed there from 1967 to 1969. I stayed a year and returned stateside. I also went to Tony's pizzeria. I still have contact with my old boss who still lives there. I just asked him about Tony's and he said it was still there. I remember Tony and the great food and pizza. We went there alot. Tony would make this special desert. It was a Banana flambé and out of this world. I also plan to go back this next year. I am trying to remeber everything and have been going to maps etc trying to re-pace my life there. I would be interested in any exchange of memories to re-fresh memories. Ed

Ed: I'm so surprised to see a response....and so delighted! Thanks for the news about Tony's Pizzeria, when I go back for a visit, it's one of the top destinations! I lived there in ~ 1975, and of course, these places stick in your heart forever! My plans for a return visit this year didn't work out, but I won't give up! Thanks-- j
