My husband and I are planning a week's trip in mid of June 2015. We would like to have something of everything in this trip. Which of the places around Berlin can be coverd in a single day return journey and where should we plan for a stay apart from Berlin?
Thanks in advance!
Hi, we will be arriving in Berlin early in the morning but our host won't be able to meet us till the afternoon. We were intending to go for the free walking tour (meeting point at Brandenburg Gate) before we meet our host. Are there any safe lockers that we can store our travel backpacks near Brandenburg Gate? I read that Friedrichstrasse station has lockers to store luggages, but are they big enough for a normal travel backpack? Thanks!
The train conflict will it also stop the local railways and U-bane in Berlin?
What is easiest travel choice from Berlin to Amsterdam for a first time traveler who only speaks English (my nephew, aged 24 American)? By bus or train is preferred, reasonably priced, and he'd like to leave tomorrow, 27 April. I checked a few places and most seemed around 100€ round trip, by bus, but as I understood you might have to change buses during the trip. I've lived in Germany several years but have never routed through the Netherlands except by plane, so I am unsure how to direct him. Thanks a lot for whatever help or suggestions you can provide!
Hello, I'm going to visit Berlin in May, and with Easyjet, I land In Schoenefeld, (south Berlin) I'd like to book an hotel which would be easy to reach from the airport, and of course no too far from the centre or from a subway station. Price around 100$ /night is ok, the lower the better, but I don't mind.
What would you suggest, take a taxi (I arrive around 11pm)
Any help appreciated, it's hard to fing something on the site itself...
visiting Berlin from 08 jun to 10 jun with my wife. Can you suggest night club to spent night on Monday or Tuesday.
Where can I buy a baby travel stroller in Berlin (possibly brand Maclaren)?
What's the best way to get from SXF to Friedrichshain? Would it be easier to take a taxi? What would the approximate cost of a taxi be? We have 4 people and will all have luggage.

My son and partner are in Berlin and were just hit with a 40euro fine each as they had not validated their tickets..(they had purchased 3 day passes and thought they were good to go).
I read an old post that they can go to the local office and if they produce a valid ticket the fine can be reduced to 7 euro... does anyone know if that is correct
I will need a cheap hotel near Schonefeld SXF airport (or B&B/Guesthouse), I prefer a hotel easy accessable with buss/shuttle/train fromt eh airport to the hotel.

Last year i was in Bernauer Straße, next to the subway station, while a guy came and showed us his phone: with an application, when he pointed his phone at the big white wall with the picture of the soldier jumping over the wall, this picture started moving on his screen.. Does anybody know the name of the app ? I couldn't find anything similar to that, and i'm leaving tomorrow to visit again that wonderful city :
Thank you in andvance !
Hi all - I am dining alone and would like to take in some authentic German cuisine/ beers. Any suggestions for lunch and/ or dinner within walking distance of the Holiday Inn in Alexanderplatz? I am not looking for anything fancy or pricey - just someplace with a good atmosphere and won't make me feel awkward for eating by myself.
Anybody know where is some shop with metal cycling/bicycle miniatures in Berlin?
Can be tour de france figures, cycling or diecast bicycle model.
I want to know the adress in Berlin.
have a nice day
As soon as I land, I want to buy a SIM card for telephone calls only (no data).
From what I can see surfing around, there doesn't seem to be a place at the airport selling SIM cards. This seems rather strange. Is it true?
If there isn't a place at the airport, how about at the Berlin-Sudkreuz Bahnhof?
BTW, I prefer Lycamobile as this is what I had on my last trip to Germany.
I will be in Berlin to celebrate this event and am looking for suggestions of exhibits, happenings, neighborhoods and the like. I have checked the standard sites but am hoping locals will share a few secrets!
We have been to Berlin before - for 1 week. At that time, we bought 7-day tickets, which were great.
This time, we will be in Berlin for only 3 or 4 days. At the BVG site, I see only 1-day and 7-day tickets - nothing in between. Is there a 3 or 4 day ticket? If not, what tickets do you suggest we buy? Thanks.
Arriving Schoenfeld Monday, Dec 1st.
Taking Airport train to Berlin Hauptbahnhof (RE7 or RE14) about noontime.
(1) After disembarking from the airport train, how long would it take me to reach the platform of the train to Nuremberg, assuming I stop at the ticket office to reserve a seat? I cannot reserve in advance since there is always the possibility my plane will arrive late. Also, I will have a German rail pass, so I don't need to buy a ticket.
(2) Are the platforms of the train arriving from the airport and the train departing for Nuremberg in the same platform area, or do I have to go to a different area of the station?

Hey There, am planning a trip to Berlin and was wondering if there are a lot of English speaking people around as my German is still a little rough
We're currently on holiday in Berlin. My son has asked us if we could get him a scarf of the Padeborn football team.
Could anyone advise a store which might sell it.
