Hi Wonder if anyone can help with some information My wife is looking at a cottage in Ambleside for a week over New Year. Can anyobe tell me if there is likely to be anything open during this period - restaurants etc. I don't want to get there and everything be closed for winter as we would be looking to eat out most evenings at least Thanks in advance
Thanks Jenny That puts my mind at rest. Didn't want to be stuck cooking all our meals with two kids in tow - may as well stay at home :-)

Yes dont worrie! The Lake District although busiest in summer, is a true year round destination, there will be plenty of places open and places to eat. In fact the best of it is you can enjoy it more as its not as busy :). Hope you have a great time. chris
