Re: Kayak rental to Goat Island
Aloha. First off you can walk at low tide to the Island, but you could damage the reef or your feet without ocean shoes. Take a surfboard over to the beaches as it is a seabird sanctuary and you should stay out of the middle of the Island, but if you want to Kayak from the Malaekahana State Park which has showers and restrooms right next to the beach looking out to Goat Island (Mokuauia Island)you can. Kayaks can be rented on the windward side from Kailua Sailboards & Kayaks in Kailua or North Shore at Surf-N-Sea in Haleiwa. Depending on which way you are coming from would be the way to rent it, as both locations are not near the Park. About 30 miles from Kailua and about 17 miles from the town of Haleiwa.
