Hi... I will be traveling to South Africa next month and will be transferring from the US through Lagos onto South Africa. Can anyone tell me if I will need a visa in Lagos? I do not plan on leaving the airport but was told that I still might need a visa. Thanks, Henry
Hi I cannot see why you would need a visa if you're just transiting through the airport. As long as you stay 'planeside' and don't pass through immigration, you won't officially enter Nigeria, so I struggle to see how there could be any visa requirement. I would like to think that even Nigeria's legendary corruption had not yet extended to this sort of scam. Just in case someone else can provide some further on this rumour, it might help to know what passport you are travelling on, and what carriers you're flying with. Regards Cathy

Use the form on the following website to know for sure (this is the information the airlines use when figuring out whether to let you on the plane or not): delta.com/planning_reservati... Input your citizenship and tell the form that you are only transiting.
