Hydrofoil / trains

by Katinka11 Online Now Aug 7, 2007 at 10:08 PM

We will be arriving in Como by train, wishing to get to ferry/hydrofoil dock for lake transport to Bellagio. Is this walking distance? After 3 nights in Bellagio seeking lake transport to Colico. Is it possible to walk to train station from dock area in Colico? 2 adults, 2 teenagers all with backpacks.
Of all the lake transport what would you recommend to suit us?
Many thanks.

    Hi,

    Como has two train stations.

First one - "Como St Giovanni" is used by trains "passing by" Como to other destinations. I walked to the lake, but is rather too far when you have luggage with you.

Other station - "Como Nord Lago" is used by dedicated trains departing from Milano Cadorna station. It is righ at the lake, it is possible to walk to the ferries. Trains are more frequent on this line.
