Does anyone know any good companies that do mountain biking tours in the area? I have seen a few but they were$$. Thanks
Just the lack of a reply should indicate to you the level of sophistication of the bike rental buisnesses in Pana.Theres only two roads that lead out of Pana,one leads to Solola[the chicken bus route],and climbs at about a 15%grade from the Attitlan basin to the rim.It would be nearly impossible to climb,although the ride down could be exciting.A better route would be from Pana.to San Andreas,you could load your rental bike on the back of one of the numerous pickup trucks which provide discount transportation to Godinez,and coast back down.This is the most scenic of the routes,has a gentler grade to the rim,and is less traveled.Good Luck!

I think I've seen mountain biking tours being offered at www.enjoyguatemala.com which is a tour operator. Otherwise search it and you should be able to get a link. Good luck.
