Are there boat rentals near the Lago Enriquillo area? Also, how far is it from Santo Domingo? Thanks
Lago Enriquillo is about 4.5 hours away by bus from Santo Domingo. The few tour operators that do trips there do a 2-day trip so that they can spend the night in the vicinity. Boat rentals to where?

As Mariel writes it’s quite a trip from Santo Domingo to Lago Enriquillo. I did it in 2004 but stayed one night in Barahona before visiting Lago Enriquillo. I went on a boat trip with some locals. I haven’t booked anything in advance but it was arranged at the main entrance to the lake. I have a few pics from the boat trip on my Barahona site…
