change location

Moving to Cococabana or La Paz

I intend to move to South America, near Lake Titicaca in the very near future, for a minimum of 3 years. I have been searching the net looking for information on the availability of housing in either location. I would like to drive from the US into SA. Can any of you who know, offer any information or advice? Thanks!
