Hi , we are off to Kyrenia next week and have read that sterling or euros may be preferable to Turkish lira . Also is it common for commission to be charged on traveller cheques .

    take sterling, you will get a better rate ( 2.43 last week ) compared to travel cheques ( 2.36 ).Many restaurants price in sterling and everywhere accept it.

    I suppose you mean British pound by Sterling? But I'm seeing 1 : 0.84 right now for today.
