Hi, I'm considering an assignment to Kuwait with my company for a while, they're offering to pay for my accomadation/utilities/transport and are going to provide 6 KWD a day for daily stuff, I think this means mainly food. Can anyone tell me if 6 KWD a day is good? Will it get me much? Thanks!

Hi I have to go for a business trip to Kuwait for 3 days. Staying at Safat. The hotel has been booked by the company I am to visit. From the reviews online, it would not be my choice to stay there. They assure me I can change the hotel after 1st day. My questions: 1- Is Safat close to any entertainment or food choices(any international chain - McD etc)? 2- Is it safe to travel from here to nearby entertainment places at night? 3- Best mode of transport? 4- Any specific advice about what to avoid? 5- Should I consider shifting from this hotel or just stay there? 6- Where can I buy a business directory or find export data? Can't find anything online about a business directory of Kuwait. 7- If anyone is planning a visit at the same time(Arriving June 17th Morning), and would like to meet up? 8- Is cigarette smoking a problem? 9- Any tips on what to do at night? I am travlling to Kuwait city for a couple of days in the beginning of June (yes, I know the heat is fierce that time!), and I wonder which is the best area to choose for accomodation when you have not visited Kuwait city before? I want to see as much as possible and also do some shopping. I have been looking at some places downtown, close to Soor street and not too far away from the souk, and also some places in Salmiya, which seem to be a bit off, but on the other hand have beaches? Though I am a little confused, some guides say that Salmiya is the very center of Kuwait city and that the area hosts all shoppingcentres as well as all the culture, is that correct? Also, what would the price be to take a short cab ride within the city, maybe 5-10 min maximum? Do I need to haggle a lot about the price since people can tell my by looks I am European? Hello All, I will be soon in Kuwait alone for a couple of days and I have done my research on what to do and such. The problem I find is that the tour companies I have found normally require a minimum of two people to run those tours. I could pay for two but it is going to get very expensive. Does any one know private guides with car or just a driver? if so, do you know how much they charge and how to get in contact with them? Another question, how can I visit the Burgan Oil Field? is there any requirement to do in advance? Thanks a lot in advance for your answers. Best, JA

i just want to ask,my sister is in kuwait right now. Her flight is on june 21 this year her airlines is kuwait airways arrive in manila on june 22...then she will be transfer to philippine airlines going to cebu and she will arrive in mactan airport at 10pm in the evening on that same day. Hello my VT friends ... want to ask if anyone knows if there is a in transit desk at the airport, I will be flying in on United Airlines and changing over to Qatar Airways, I have 2 different tickets so I was wondering if I can check in at the in transit desk or will I have to exist and go to the ticket counter up front and then come back thru security ??? Hi everyone. My wife and I are travelling to kuwait to see our parents for a couple of months. I am a canadian citizen and have a canadian passport. My wife is a pakistani citizen. I understand that they would grant me visa at the airport, but I have 3 questions. 1) my wife, who is a permanent resident of canada, does she need a visa? If yes, would she be granted visa at the airport with me?? 2) It says on website of kuwait embassy in kuwait that visa would be granted to canadian citizens for 1 month.
