    • 12-day trekking Borneo in july: Sarawak/Kalimantan/Sabah:who joins me?

      Borneo Apr 30, 2013 at 10:11 AM

      Hi all,
I'm doing a trekking this summer on Borneo: starting from Bakalalan, crossing the border to Kalimantan and ending in Sabah (Long Pasia).

It will start in the last week of july and end in the first week of august.

It will be great expedition: lots of rainforest, wildlife (hopefully) and of course a guide etc. It won't be an easy trekking, but what's wrong with a challenge?

If someone is interested, let me know!

      Thanks a lot,
      Max (NL)

Driver's License for small scooters (under 50cc)

      Malaysia Yesterday

I have a follow up to an earlier question issue, re.motorbike licensing in Malaysia. Does anyone know what Malaysia rules are concerning small electric bikes? Here on the west coast of Canada and in Washington State (USA), there is no extra licensing needed for small (49 cc or less) electric bikes. You can use your regular (auto) driver's license: Malaysia? Thanks

I just have the regular auto license here in Canada, but could get a motorcycle license here, if it made obtaining a motorcycle license in Malaysia easier. Anyway, looking for advice, ideas. Thanks

Hi, I enjoyed Kayakking 11 km along Semenggoh River during my Kuching trip in July earlier this year. My Rainforest kakis & I will be back next July 2013 & we were hoping to do White Water Rafting this time. Who the reliable White Water Rafting operators in Sarawak we could link up with ? 2nd query => we would like to go to a proper native spa to do some Sarawak specialty treatments. Any good recommendations for this & would they have a link/website we could check ? Lastly => we would like to do a day climb up & down Mt. Santubong, maybe start in the morning & finish in the evening, along with pick-up & return to hotel. Any safe & reliable operators to recommend for this ? Thanks in advance to all members who can assist us with these queries. Cheers.

Hi all, I'm in the midst planning for my trip to Kuching in March next year. Initially it was a tour-around-city plan, but now it expands and I'm thinking of visiting Bako National Park and Damai Beach as well. Just a few quick questions: 1) Is there any local tour operator that provide tour to Bako and/or Damai (plus Orang Utan Sanctuary) for ONE pax? 2) My plan is to visit Sarawak Cultural Village before proceed to Bako National Park and will then stay overnight at Bako National Park. Same question again, is it safe for tourist travel alone? any tour guides provided by the Park management? How's the charges like? 3) For destination above, is there any transportation included back and fro Kuching city, which is value-for-money for ONE pax? Thanks for all your help!!

Given the above itinerary, is it worth while to rent a car to drive aroung? 2. are the routes to the national parks well paved and easily navigate (with clear signage?) 3. Are there any car park charges at the National Parks? 4. We are looking at Pinnacles Kuching along Jalan Borneo (any negative remarks about the lodge or the area) 5.
