Food in Kuantan

by MMFYM Online Now Jul 11, 2006 at 10:02 PM

Please tell me where are the interesting places to eat in Kuantan. I know there are a lot of eating places at Tg. Lumpur (if i'm not mistaken), but which one is the best in terms of food quality and price?

Is there any halal chinese coffee shop or restaurant? Would appreciate if you could give me the address.

Wak Supian at Jalan Besar is a Minang Restaurant.
R&R at Jalan Besar is a Malay Restaurant. Pahang food.
Seri Kampung Restaurant near the Mega Mall is a good Malay Restaurant.
Taj chain of Indian Food restaurant. And Alif chain.
Some Minang Restaurants at Jalan Mahkota.
De Suria behind Methodist Primary School is good.

Halal Chinese shop? In Kuantan there is no HALAL sign in any eating shop. You take your own risk. There are many kopitiam shops, but no HALAL sign. But many Muslims eat in those kopitiam shops!

Tanjung Lumpur is OK at night, you do not see what are surrounding you. In the day time......well .........But the 'goreng-goreng' shop in front of the Peramu Police Station is very well patronised.
