What would be the best way to get from Melaka to KL, in the morning, then back to Melaka around 11 at night. Thanks

I would choose the bus (there are many) which should get you there in around 2 hrs.

There are plenty of air-cond bus from the Melaka Bus Station to KL in the morning everyday. You arrive at Tasik Selatan Bus Terminal in KL. Then, buy your return bus ticket immediately at the Tasik Selatan Bus Terminal, so that you know your seat is secure for the time that you wish to leave KL. You can take the LRT (city train) at Tasik Selatan Bus Terminal to downtown KL.

I would second Melaka. You can take a bus there from SG and then head off to KL from there. Stay at Hotel Puri in Melaka... more
Just tell the hotel your flight number and your ETD and that should suffice. more
