from Airport to Pan Pacific at PWTC?

by gabyne Online Now Oct 23, 2003 at 1:59 AM

Dear all, I've heard there should be a LRT station or maybe a station of the new monorail close to the Pan Pacific Hotel (the one at the Putra World Trade Centre in Jalan Putra). Can someone advise me which train to take from KLIA and where to change if necessary? Any idea about the costs? Thanks a lot!

There are 2 LRT lines in KL : PUTRA line (stops at KL Sentral lrt station) and the STAR (stops near PWTC at the PWTC lrt station). From KLIA, take the KLIA Express train to KL Sentral station. This will be RM35 for a one-way ticket. From KL Sentral station, get off the KLIA Express and take the PUTRA line to Masjid Jamek lrt station. From Masjid Jamek lrt station, get off there and make your way out to the STAR line. From there, take the STAR line to PWTC station. Pan Pac is 5-10 minutes walk from PWTC station.

ERL from airport costs RM35 one way. From there take a Putraline to Masjid Jamek station. The connecting train is the STAR to the Mall or just ask anyone which station to get off at. if you have lots of luggage, best to take a cab from Central ( where ERL disembark) straight to Pan Pac. It shouldn't cost you more than RM10. ( About USD 3)

Airport-KL Sentral; like everyone has said, take the KLIA Express train. Then, you have the choice of either taking a KTM Komuter train (which goes direct to Putra station, taking the Rawang line) It takes about 10 minutes to walk and cross the roads to the Pan Pacific KL; you may need to ask for directions, but you don't have to change trains. The hotel is quite visible from the train station; although the STAR LRT Line's station is closer to the hotel, you need to change trains. I wouldnt reccomend it (taking trains to the hotel) if you have lots of luggage or going to travel late at night ...Take a cab from KL Sentral Station, it may cost more since they use a coupon system; but at least you don't need to negotiate with them before you board, it is very systemetic.

Hi there! Another alternative - take the KLIA Transit (not the KLIA Express) frm the airport to Bandar Tasik Selatan station and change to Starline LRT that will take U to the PWTC station (PWTC = Putra World Trade Centre). Its much simpler and faster. -m-
