The airport and train station is not connected. The airport is pretty far from the city centre but you can take a taxi/shuttle buses/the ERL to KL sentral. From there you can take the train to Singapore.

If you are heading straight to Singapore, without exploring KL, why not just take a connecting flight?

Trains to Singapore depart from the main Railway station in Kuala Lumpur. There are morning and night trains south bound. Another option would be the coach / buses to Singapore, they depart by the hour and you have a choice of regular, executive and luxury coaches. The buses are frequent, very comfortable, affordable and punctual, journey takes about 5 to 6 hours.

From the airport there are many buses leaving frequently to KL costing less than 10 ringit and the journey only takes an hour to Sentral where the train departs from Arrives Woodlands, Singapore. This site is very informative showing different class accommodation and train times.

For the overnight train Do book advance-read seat61.com for info
Alternative: take the KLIA- TRANSIT=all stops train only as far as BTS=Bandar Tasik Selatan, which is adjacent to a big white cubic which has the busstesyen for go south in MY- incl. SINgapore and/or via JB=Johore, with buses at least ev. hour. Most of these buses have more convenient set-down points as far away Woodlands for the kereta api=tren.

To take the train from KL to Singapore, from the airport KLIA, just hop in the shuttle from the airport, when you have reach the KL Sentral just get a taxi to the train station. It is just 10 minutes taxi, about RM10, just hail a taxi outside of the KL Sentral station, if you are not with heavy stuff then you can walk about 3KM. (ask the the information counter they will show you the direction) In Singapore the train will stop at Woodland which is not very far from the Causeway. From there you can hop in the no.170 bus. to Singapore town center

NO, the ariport train goes to KL Sentral, from there , you can get the overnight train to Singapore.
The singapore train station used to be in City cente(Tanjung Pagar) but had been relocated near Johor Bahru, ie, in Woodlands, you can take the MRT to city from there.
