If I go Kuala Lumpur on 8-9Aug2013, will the most of the shop be closed?
no, apart from malays or muslims operated shops, other shops will open as normal.

One odd scene you would probably meet at big shopping mall is there are crowd of foreign employees who come out from where they stay as it is a public holiday for a few days, they just gathering and wandering but look odd.

Please do not forget that Malaysia is a multiracial country. Our shop and all the major mall will always open. you will never missed anything instead you will witness the special occasion.

I agree with DaHong. Big shopping malls will be opened but wil be ull with foreign employees as most Malaysians even the non Muslims take this as an oppurtunity to travel back home or go for a holiday

I would second Melaka. You can take a bus there from SG and then head off to KL from there. Stay at Hotel Puri in Melaka... more
