Hey guys,
Im considering Malaysia for a month/3 weeks backipacking this summer and Ive always wanted to visit malaysia.
I know this is a common question which is probably getting boring, but is malaysia safe for women travelling alone, especially european women (stands out as a tourist).
Ive read other forums about this and the answers are so mixed. some say its safe, some say even malaysian women are scared to walk alone... so Im a bit confused...
So what are your experiences?
Any advise is much appreciated! :)
Vicki :)
How do you go from JB Sentral to Tune Hotel in Johor Bahru? Are taxis safe, clean and not that expensive relative to that of Singapore?
I would like to know how much is the taxi fare going to Legoland Malaysia coming from Tune Hotel in Danga Bay, Johor Bahru and vice-versa. How long will the trip be?
What's the best and safest way of going to Sentosa from Tune Hotel in Johor Bahru and back?
What's the fastest way going to Changi AIrport, Singapore, coming from Legoland Malaysia?
1. Is there a visa-on-arrival facility for a UK passport holder at a Malaysian airport?
2. Are there any restrictions on entering Malaysia from neighboring countries a 2nd time within one week?
Is anyone traveling to KL in the next couple of months, if so give me a shout, I'll be traveling alone?
Hi
I will be visiting Johor bahru for one week from Singapore. but I have no idea which hostel or which area i should stay for the safety reason and convenience to visit any good place in JB. I will be travelling by bus from SG to JB. I think it is quite a distance from malaysia immigration office on border to JB city.
where is the bus going to stop in JB?
how is the condition in JB? is it safe to travel female alone ?
Thanks, please input any info.
Hi,
my friends and I need to know transportation options (preferably buses) from KL airport to Concorde inn. Is it walkable and if so how long would it take? Have heard abo0ut a free shuttle service but we aren't staying at the hotel, so can we still avail of this shuttle?
Thanks
Does anyone know of a camera shop where I may be able to pick up a strobe and arm for underwater photography at or near LCCT (the Air Asia terminal in KL) or KLIA (the international airport). I have a 4-hour stopover on the way to Indonesia and really need to get these items. If anyone has the contact details (email or phone) of such at shop, at either airport (I'm at LCCT but can get to KLIA in 20 mins) or within an hour round trip reach of LCCT that would be perfect as I may be able to contact them and get them to order what I want even if they don't stock it.
I would be enormously grateful for any help!
which is more convenient to travel from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore during night time, will it be by bus or by train, and how much is the bus fare/train and which bus/train?
Hi, may I know where do locals go to buy dried seafood stuff (eg. scallop, fish maw, etc) in Penang? Any wholesale centre? Thanks.
I have a follow up to an earlier question issue, re.motorbike licensing in Malaysia. Does anyone know what Malaysia rules are concerning small electric bikes? Here on the west coast of Canada and in Washington State (USA), there is no extra licensing needed for small (49 cc or less) electric bikes. You can use your regular (auto) driver's license: Malaysia? Thanks
Hello, two of us are landing at KLIA on10 July and would like to go directly to Cameron Highlands WITHOUT going into KL if possible. Is it possible? Without paying an exorbitant taxi or van fare all the way? Thank you.
What can I do with just 4 days in Malaysia? I like travelling , bathing in the sea and clubs. I also like to visit Singapore for a day!
Please make up an itinerary for me!! BTW I am landing in Kaulalumpur.
I am thinking of heading to Borneo for 7-10day in December on my way back from the UK to New Zealand and was wondering if anyone had any advice around tour companies because I will be going on my own.I have had a wee look around but not finding 100% what im looking for. I am really interested in the diving in the islands and also and Orangutans at Sepilok, and if possible would love to do a longhouse stay. Any help/advice would be much appreciated!
Hi: Looking to stay here one night (flying into KLIA). Does anyone know the cost of a taxi between the hotel and KLIA? Any info to share about the hotel in general. Thanks
Hi VTers - it's been a while since I've visited the forums, but I know I can count on the expertise here! I'm staying at the Berjaya Langkawi with my other half for the last week in September (should be a quiet time in Langkawi, I think?). Now, while we were sold on the chalet concept, we really aren't big resort people and want to be able to explore the island and eat out independently. My understanding is that the Berjaya is fairly cut off (except for the Oriental Village which doesn't appeal), so we're wondering how would be best to get out and about.
Is cycling feasible, or is this only suitable for short journeys? Would you recommend car hire? My partner owns a scooter in Italy, but I'm not sure how safe renting one of these is in Malaysia? The last one we rented abroad (Uruguay) came with one-size-fits-all helmets which wouldn't have done very much in a crash.
Many thanks in advance!
I would be in Kuala Lumpur on 2nd of June from 10pm to 6am. Any place/shop/mall open around that time to do some shopping for electronics?
We live in KL but don't own a car. What is the most desirable (perhaps the only?) alternative mode of travel?
How would you classify Penang, Malaysia for a lesbian couple, with two 5 year olds for vacation travel. We are not public affection types so it would simply be to travel and enjoy the location as a family. Any advise would be appreciated!
I like to walk from KL Sentral Station to the National Palace, so I got googlemap‘s suggested route about 5.0km throught Jalan Stesen Sentral, Jalan Damansara, Jalan Sultan Sulaiman, Jalan Kampung Attap,…, Lorong Bellamy, end Jalan Istana. On the map I think the distance between the two place is shorter than 5.0km, is there any other direction, or direction web in Kuala Lumpur like streetdirectory.sg? And how about the monorail, can you tell more information about this? Thank you
