A friend and I will be travelling throughout southeast Asia this summer. He and I are both climbers and plan on spending about a week or so climbing in the Krabi area. It would be impossible for us to go to Thialand and not climb, however he and I dont want to carry a rope around for seven weeks. Is there anywhere that will rent ropes in Krabi? I know about the guided climbing and that it is relatively cheap , but that hurts my pride a little. I would rather be independent and have the option to multipitch. Also is it common to find people climbing in Krabi with a rope looking for a belay partner?
I am going fo rmy honeymoon in Krabi early of june. And i just too busy with wedding preparation and not much time to plan for my honeymoon trip. Planning to have some relax trip at some nice hotel/resorts/boutiqe (~USD70). Really like the Boracay Island feels where hotel are near to beach and streets. Need a bit of relax and not isolated.
Can VTs help to recommend how many days i should spent in Krabi and Phuket?
We would like to visit Phi Phi Island too. Kindly reco some iti and hotel for me..
Sorry for being lazy yet just too buy to map out plan. Thanks in advance
My wife and I just came back from a tour of Phuket (1 night ) and Phi Phi (2 nights). Both of us really enjoyed thoroughly the stay in Phi Phi (with its beautiful islands). We vow to come again to Phi Phi, and perhaps this time enter PP via Krabi.
Well , I have just seen Phuket, particularly Patong area, with many of its shops, bars, and eating places, plenty.
Can someone please advise me what can I expect from tour of Krabi ( while I will tour Phi Phi from thereon). I presume that Krabi will be a quieter place?
Hi, We are a group of 4 adults and 3 children (all below 10 yrs) and planning a trip to Krabi in April. We would like some suggestions on the stay options. What we are looking for is - 1. A Villa with 2 or 3 bedrooms where we can all stay together 2. On the beach 3. Preferably in Ao Nang area 4. Should have a pool at least in the resort if not within the villa Would appreciate any help on finding a place. Thank you. Regards, Priya
Hello, We are looking at going to stay at Krabi La Playa Resort, hopefully for Songkran this year. Can anyone give advice on how long the transfer from Krabi airport takes. I take it we fly from the UK into BKK and transfer to an internal flight to Krabi? We have been to Koh Samui, Pattaya & Phuket, and assume that Krabi would be quieter than those resorts but still able to get tailors and shopping etc. Many thanks,
My girlfriend and I arrived in Phuket today and don't like how crowded and crazy it is. We want to take off to Krabi. Need help picking an area that is nice, quiter, we love hiking, snorkeling, fishing and do like a good beach bar with some music.... Just not row after row of bars ad hookers like this crazy area of Phuket. Help with area we should stay in and accommodations. Thank you,
I will be in Krabi 23 Jan-28 Jan and interested in engaging a private tour, problem is prices will be steep since there's only 2 of us. Thinking of doing Hong islands in the morning and 4 islands later in the evening to avoid crowds and get a glimpse of the sunset at sea, rather than the conventional half-day 4 islands tour and half-day hong island tour. If anyone is interested in sharing the tour/ or have other recommendations, do drop a reply! Thanks!
Hi, just puting finishing touches to asia hols in jan /. feb next year. The last place we visit is Krabi before we need to get back to KL. Initially we thought about flight with airasia but have been told that there is a train that can be caught to make the journey. Is this right? how long does it take? Is it direct ie no changes? how much does it cost? where does the journey start from, is it Krabi or somewhere nearby? Many thanks POEPAT
This is a continuation of my post regarding transport from Krabi to RAILAY BAY. Thanks to all people that responded regarding transport options to railay bay. I am though a little bit confused with the resort and the beaches. We will arrive from Koeh Sok and had made reservation with RAILAY BAY PRINCESS... Now I still do not know if it Is Railay Beach East or west or if "Sand and Sun" and if there is an access with a car to RAILAY PRINCESS RESORT. Thanks to every one that will help to resolve this confision..
hey there. i checked out tripadvisor and google to find a hotel in west side of Railay Bay. but it seems there is 1 which is 400 Euros for day :) any other suggestions?we gonna stay 6 days and looking for a relaxing in nature but a nice place. thnx
I am staying one night in Krabi. I arrive at 8pm at the airport and do no think the ferries to Koh Lanta run past that. Are there plenty of places to stay around the ferry terminal or any suggestion where to stay and enjoy a more quiet night in Krabi. along the water would be good, I do not know Krabi as i have never been to southern thailand. thanks! Jordan
I am planning my trip to South Thailand. My present plan is to fly to Phuket and stay ther 2 nights, Then to go for 2 nights to Khao Sok Reservation and finally, to spend 2 nights ar Railay Bay Resort. I read on various websites that the only way to arrive to Railay Bay resort is by long-tail boats. However, checking GOOGLE MAP it looks like one does can arrive there with a car. I would like to know what is the status now as this will affect our decision: If we can arrive to the resort with a car, we will rent one in Phuket and keep it with us (dropping off in Phuket or Krabi, depending on the flight back). Otherwise, we will probably use public transportation (minivan or so). Thanks for updated information
Ok... I have more or less rounded off on the below hotels for stay. Please suggest me the one which can give me the best bang for the buck. Small hotel Buri_Tara_Resort Vogue Resort & Spa The Cliff Ao Nang Resort Mercure Krabi Deevana Criteria: 1. Price of any room(Delux/Superior/Standard or whatever) shouldn't exceed INR 5000. That is 2800 thai baht or US90. I sort of strung on a budget:( 2. Since the resorts are not right on the beach, I am hoping to get that 'luxury' bit through a private bath tub or Jacuzzi. 3. Probably the regular travellers could chip in with their experiences which could allow me to strike off based on some unsavory factors. 4. I think all of these resorts are only 5 min walk from the beach. Or am I wrong about any of them. Would like all your opinions to help me make my honeymoon stay a special one... of whhatever I could squeeze from! Cheers, GG
Hi, I would like advice on choosing a hotel in Krabi. m looking for a room with a comfy balcony and a sea view. My budget is around 2500 bhats. Any suggestions?? Thank you very much :-)
I will be travelling with my 70 year old mom on a cruise that is docking for a day in Krabi on 2 Oct 2012. As the ship will be docking at Phrawat, I need to know: how far is it to Wat Tham Sua. I would like to do a Thai Market tour (Talad Gao) - any recommendations for a day visit preferably. Is there a Central deparmental store in Krabi? Please advise the location. I appreciate if someone can advise on: exact location of a Thai noodle(Khanom Jeen) soup stand, on the corner of Soi 6 and Krabi’s main street. Any idea on operation hours/day? Landmarks would be appreciated. Pakarang Seafood Restaurant @ Aonang Beach. Is it worth a try? location of Klai Wang Water Garden (catfish farm). Is this food outlet in operation as I read if of the 2005 version of Flyer magazine. I would appreciate if one can advise cost of hire of tuk tuk for a tour around Krabi and any other sight-see recommendations that does not involve island hopping or swimming or jungle trekking.
I will be based in Krabi Aonang and i have these options 1) 4 Island Tour ( chicken, Poda, Tup etc ) 2 ) 5 Island Tour ( Hong, pakbia, lading, dang etc ) 3) Phi Phi and Bamboo 4) James Bond Island I want to do any 2 of these 4, depending on beauty, snorkelling etc. Which 2 are more diverse ? Secondly what are good options for Kayaking in limestone caves of Krabi ? Which would be the best of these 3 1) Bor Thor 2) Ao Thalane 3 ) Hong Hong has both, it should be the first choice , but i'd like to go to what you consider the best - in your opinion
Hi! Appreciate first hand knowledge (not reference to weather websites, please) on weather in Krabi during the first week of April? Or is the weather there upside down, too, as in KL now (when it is supposed to be mad dogs and English men weather around the March Equinox but we've been getting a lot of late afternoon rain and really cool nights!)?
Does anyone knows when is the last bus from krabi to hat yai daily?
Hi guys, Our flight arrives at Krabi Airport at around 1.40pm and we want to catch the 3.00pm ferry into Koh Phi Phi on the same day. 1stopkrabi.com/getting_here/... Few questions here. 1) Read somewhere that it takes around 30 minutes from Krabi airport to Klong Jirad pier. Looking at the time line, will we be able to make it in time for the ferry? 2) How much does it cost to get to Klong Jirad pier from the airport by taxi? 3) Should we just buy the ferry ticket when we get to Klong Jirad pier or should be we book in advance? 4) How much does the ferry cost from Klong Jirad Pier to Koh Phi Phi? Thanks all.
