Hi! Appreciate first hand knowledge (not reference to weather websites, please) on weather in Krabi during the first week of April? Or is the weather there upside down, too, as in KL now (when it is supposed to be mad dogs and English men weather around the March Equinox but we've been getting a lot of late afternoon rain and really cool nights!)?
I just came back from there. What I can say is the weather is typical for winter tropical climate, e.g. first part of the day it's clear but rains in the afternoon, sometimes at night. It was like that in Krabi every single day. Mind you it is still not April but I don't suppose the weather would change that drastically in few weeks. Although you never know, they say they get unexpected monsoons occasionally. Cheers

Same as above, I spent the whole of February in Krabi, although that won't help for April. I also had quite a few days of grey weather but in the whole month I only remember it really raining four times, all in the evening and once carried on all night. The rain never stopped us moving around during the day at all.

Thanks, @Irina! FYI the S W Monsoon normally starts in May for the Andaman Sea side of Thailand. So, if it's already like that now, maybe I should check the weather for Koh Samui ;) Cheers!

@psfmalo - that is not surprising coz Feb should be peak season for the Andaman Sea side ;) While But thanks, anyway! Cheers

NR, normally and should don't count for a lot weather-wise these days. I spent 2 months on Samui, Jan-Feb and part of March last year. Was told that the rains are "usually" over by the end of November. Somebody forgot to tell the weatherman 'cos it was still chucking it down the first week of February. We had a good month after the that and managed to be away from there when they had to close the airport on Samui in the middle of March for flooding !!!

Tough luck @pf :( But you had 'normal' weather in Krabi i.e. as per previous years! ;)

first week of April would be full moon, it would be lovely if not raining :) I was there till 03/16th and it has been fine only 10 minutes rain during one evening. Then I've been to KL for week-end, I also noticed it was "cooler" than usual but I believed because it was clouded and from my hotel room I saw raining close by and not, strangely, downtown......... maybe because I was there?? :)))))

Absolutely @cgf ;) The Gods must've moved the thunder shower away! ;) Btw that's the nature of tropical thunderstorms: it can rain cats and dogs in one area and dry in the next block! It's kinda strange feeling when you drive from the former into the latter! ;)

that's was not actually a storm, only [almost light] rain anyway it's been very hot last week in Krabi, more than KL

And it's very hot in KL today: the Equinox! Argh! Can never get used to it! :( BTW I might end up doing Club Med Cherating, again, after several years lapse - need 15 days advance leave application for vacation abroad! Time is getting shorter and I'm not sure if I'm gonna get the long or the short end of the stick with Krabi! BUt I know exactly what I'll get in Cherating ;-) Cheers!
