What is the best way to travel from Krabi, Thailand to Melaka, Malaysia?I think Melaka is 2 hours south of Kuala Lumpur. How much would this trip cost? Are there different options, bus, train, boat, etc??
Bus to Surat Thani,to link up to the train line which takes you to Tampin (next stop after KL) where you transfer to Melaka. Best way. Depends on class, but expect to pay around 1000THB~ Classic train trip. One of those on the list of every train traveler~

The fastest way would be fly from Krabi to Kuala Lumpur, and then take a coach to get to Melacca. Air Asia does this route, and if you book early, it is quite cheap. Bus involves going to Hat Yai from Krabi. Take first class as it stops less. Then take a coach down to KL, and then another one to Melacca. You get more leg room if you choose the VIP class. It will likely take you a good part of the day. Train is much slower than the bus for sure. If you want to go this route, head to Hat Yai train station by bus. Surat Thani is north of it and you are traveling backwards.

Agree with MIM95, best option is to fly otherwise you will lose a lot of time on the road.
