Park Hotel

by tedmac Online Now May 20, 2006 at 10:51 AM

I've just been advised by my travel company that there are building works taking place in my hotel. The Park Hotel on Chatham Road South. Has anybody been there recently ? Aparently the've been going on since September 2004 and Kuoni have waited until three weeks before I'm due to stay there to tell me, and now they are asking if I want to move. Problem is I need to remain in Kowloon Tsim Sha Tsui as I've arranged to meet people and I dont want to move too far from the Chatham Road / Salisbury Road Area, and I dont know Kowloon that well. Any information on the Park and /or advice gratefully received

The Guangdong Hotel is indeed on the next street, and the Park hotel is indeed being renovated although I am not sure what has been completed. You can also stay in Tsim Sha Tsui East (right across Chatham Road from the Park Hotel) at the Regal or Nikko which may be closer but probably still more expensive than Park. Other choices are on Canton Road around the Ocean Terminal area where you will find the Marco Polo Hotels.

I just spent ten days at the Kowloon on the corner of Nathan Road and Middle Road and it was very good. The MTR is right at the hotel (Tsim Shau Tsui). The hotels in the area are the Holiday Inn, Marco Polo, Peninsula (quite expensive there though) and Sheraton. The YMCA is also close by. Unfortunately I can't comment on the Park as I don't know it, but if you do end up there I'd like to know what you think of it.
