We are going from Vienna to Portorose by train but the last station is Koper. I am sure there is a busline from Koper to Portorose but the problem is we have a small dog with us and in some countries pets are not allowed in busses.
So I need to know: are pets allowed in Slovenian busses and if not how much would a taxi ride more or less cost.
Is it possible to hire a driver to take us from Koper to Trieste...preferably one who could show us around a little. If so what would it cost.
We're in Koper, Slovenia for a day in September.
How long does it take to walk from our cruise ship's mooring to the town centre? We really don't want to take a ship's tour of the town.
I will, of course, also check on cruisecritic.com
Our cruise ship is stopping in October in Koper. We would like to visit Pula, Croatia if possible. It seems it is about 1 1/2 hours away. What is the best way to get to Pula to see the sites?
Is it possible to visit the postojna cave and the nearby predjama castle, on public transportation, and is there a map of public transportation routes? Would it be possible to fit this visit and a visit to Piran in a one day visit from a cruise ship?

My husband and I will be arriving in Koper off of a cruise ship and are looking for an English speaking guide who can drive us from the port in Koper to Urhnika. We want to go Urhnika and back to Koper in the same day. I believe it is about a 40 mile drive. Can anyone help me with this?
My wife, my two kids and I are coming into Koper via cruise ship for a day. Rather than hang out in Koper with all of the other cruisers, I thought we might go to Ljubljana.
1. Is there enough to see in Koper or will it all just be touristy?
2. If we go to Ljubljana, should we drive or take a train?
3. How long would each one take?
4. What are some key sites to see in Ljubljana? (kids are 8&9)
Thanks for your help!!
We're a group of 20 and after docking at Koper at 8AM, we plan to hire a bus and do the following: Škocjan Caves, Vinakras wine tasting and performance at Lipica Stud farms at 3PM.
Is this do-able from the perspective of time and direction etc. so as to be back at Koper by 5PM.
Also, does anyone know of any law which says that a tourist group has to have a guide with them and cannot just hire a bus
arriving in koper on cruise ship is it within walking distance from port to shopping area ,how easy with wheelchair
How far is it from the train/bus station to the Hertz rental office? What is the easiest way to get there? Depending on the distance, I would prefer not to walk hauling my luggage.
