Koblenz Station to TuS football Stadium & Tickets

by worldexpress Online Now Feb 11, 2008 at 9:17 PM

Hello. I'd like to know how I can get to the football stadium (Oberweis Stadium?) once I arrive at the Koblenz train station. Is taxi the only option? Any idea on fare? Bus option? I'd like to catch TuS koblenz play but it's proving to be difficult to buy tickets online for foreigners. Are they usually sold out? Is it possible to get same day walk-up tickets at the stadium? I'd like to go to the 15Feb. game. Thanks for any help!

The distance is 1.3 kms from the main station in Koblenz (Hauptbahnhof), so in fact you could walk it easily. I don't know about tickets. If you want to buy online, you need to go to tuskoblenz.de/index2.php?&na... and then click on the big blue letters "Hier geht es weiter zum Ticketshop". On the next (external) website you need to make an account first: ixticket.de/system/online_ap... After that, I don't know what happens, because obviously, I didn't make an account. In order of fields you have to fill out: E-mail address Password Confirm Password - Gender First name Last name - Street and house number Postal code City - Phone Mobile Fax

For a map on how to walk: www.viamichelin.com For departure put in: Koblenz-HBF and for arrival: Altlöhrtor 15 For any queries I would suggest to write to them: post@tuskoblenz.de

There will be shuttle buses leaving from Koblenz main station to Oberwerth Stadium prior to TuS home games (the service starts 2 hours before the match and it is for free, as far as I know). There also is regular public transport. Bus #1 leaves from the main station and will take you to Oberwerth, too. You could also take a taxi, it's just a bit more than 2 km and so it should not cost more than 5 to 7 Euros. Please note: Oberwerth Stadium is NOT at Altlöhrtor (see previous post), this is the address of the club's administrative office. The stadium is located at: Jupp-Gauchel-Str. 10 56075 Koblenz About tickets: I would suggest buying them in advance. I suppose that the match against St. Pauli will be completely sold out. If you should need any more detailed info or assistance in buying tickets, do send me an email. Regards, Elena

Thank you Elena. Sorry to cause confusion. I am interested where you found this info because on the official TuS website I could not find it. (don't want to check you, it's just to see if I missed something because I searched quite well :-))))

Anke-Thea, the TuS home page actually IS a bit confusing. To find the address of the stadium you'll have to click at "Verein" and then at "Stadion". Then you'll see "Details zum Stadion Oberwerth". Cheers, Elena
