Hi. I'm thinking of flying to Samui on 9th August 06. What's the accomodation situation like, busy? Is it wise to book before hand? We're probably looking for mid range prices but would be prepared to spend that bit extra for tha bit of luxury! Thanks ina dvance, Rob.
I expoect it will be quite busy. My rule of thumb is always book before hand, if you are not happy with what you pick then you can move on, at least you have somewhere to stay on the first night without the hassle of looking around. Regards John

I think it's always good to book in advance. August is a very busy time in Samui. Why should you waste your time when you get there looking for accomodation? I can recommend you the Chaweng Regent Resort in Samui, where I stayed when I was at the island. You can check my review on the hotel in my Ko Samui page. Have a great time in Samui, it's a lovely island! Teresa

Hello Rob Beaware that August is a peak season time so your dollar may not stretch as far into luxury as you want or it as would do at other times & yes I would definetly book atleast one night but really if you visit sites like sawadee.com & take the time to view their extensive lists & reviews of resorts you will be able to form a pretty accurate picture from that. Anything else please ask Jamie
